Primed for the lead role of 나무는 서서 죽는다 A Tree Stands To Die (LT), the actor challenges the role of unknown actor Yoo Jae-heon.
He will pose as a grandson of an elderly grandmother from North Korea to fulfill her last wish. Accordingly, Jae-heon has a kind and optimistic personality full of self-love and confidence.
That is the exact opposite of what his real life is who seems to lack everything. Having been working as a theater actor in a local theater company, his life motto is to do what he wants to do.
But then, he encounters a major turning point in his life when he receives a sudden offer from an old gentleman to ‘play a North Korean defector to bring joy to a grandmother who is in the twilight of her life.
A Tree Stands To Die marks Kang’s small screen return since When The Camellia Blooms. This year, he is also confirmed to star in Insider.

Taking the female lead in the series is the talented Ha Ji Won who suits up for the role of Park Se-yeon, the youngest daughter and general manager of Hotel Paradise in the drama.
She is a practical manager who leads Hotel Paradise and is loved by all executives and employees. However, she encounters a whirlwind of fate because of three men who appear like ripples in her own daily life.
Next, Kwon Sang Woo plays the role of Bae Dong-je, the heir of a large conglomerate group. He is a natural-born chaebol whose handsome looks and nobility can be felt down to the smallest detail. He has no hesitation in revealing his thoughts and engages in bold words and actions that do not care about the feelings of others.
At the helm of the production is director Yoon Sang Ho whose last works include River Where The Moon Rises, King Maker: The Change of Destiny and Different Dreams.
