With its approaching launch date, The First Responders has been rolling out an engrossing promotional blast to enthuse viewers.
The First Responders chronicles the joint cooperation of police officers and firefighters in urgent situations involving crimes, accidents and fires. It depicts the most intense teamwork of first responders in critical situations.
Additionally, it heightens expectations since it is the first series in Korea to present a story in which police and fire departments cooperate to respond to violent events involving crime, disaster, and emergency.
Above all, the series attracts attention for its formidable cast and showrunners. Writer Min Ji Eun penned the lauded two seasons of Partners for Justice. Meanwhile, Director Shin Kyung Soo helmed Nokdu Flower, 3 Days and Tree With Deep Roots.
In the series, Kim Rae Won plays Jin Ho-gae, a passionate detective. Once he has set his target, he is determined to catch it.
Son Ho Jun portrays Bong Do-jin, a firefighter who appears cold on the outside, but is full of warmth on the inside. He rushes like a bulldozer into the flames with the determination that ‘there is no fire that cannot be extinguished.
Lastly, Gong Seung Yeon transforms into Song Seol, a diligent and kind paramedic who treats the wounds of detectives and firefighters. She cares deeply for even the smallest wound.
Accordingly, in the preview poster, the captured scene shows the triple synergy of police, firefighters and emergency responders. A police car, a fire truck, and an ambulance occupy the road side by side. It captures the tension of an urgent moment of an emergency situation.
Meet The Characters of The First Responders
Following the released teaser poster, The First Responders also unveils character stills of Kim Rae Won, Son Ho Jun and Gong Seung Yeon.
Jin Ho-gae is a legendary detective with an arrest rate exceeding 100%, by cracking all unsolved cases. Kim Rae Won is set to capture a unique police officer with ample charisma and wit. He is a detective that embodies passion, coolness and kindness.
Firefighter Bong Do-jin exudes strong leadership and does not daunt any fire situation. Son Ho Jun describes does his character as someone who takes his job responsibly. He does not care about any stories around him and thinks of others first.
In the unveiled character stills of Song Seol, she is shown immersed as a paramedic serving first aid in the scene.
Gong said, “When I first got the offer, the subject of joint firefighting and police response, which was not covered in domestic dramas, was so fresh. I thought that I wanted to participate because it was a work that depicts people who deserve respect.”
The First Responders premieres on November 12th at 10 PM on SBS.
