Introducing the male lead of its upcoming drama, MBC teases viewers of the new characters to be portrayed by Kim Jung Hyun.
Slated to launch on January 27, 2023 – 꼭두의 계절 The Season of Kkokdu (LT) chronicles the story of Kkokdu (Kim Jung Hyun), the “god of death” who comes down to the earth every 99 years to punish humans. He meets Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang) a visiting doctor with mysterious abilities.
Playing the titular role of Kkokdu, the god of the underworld, Kim also suits up as Do Jin-woo, a surgical professor at Pilsung Hospital.
Kkokdu, who hates human whims and weakness, is the only god of the underworld who leads the dead on the road to the underworld. However, there was a time in the distant past when Kkokdu lived as a human being. However, after his death, he forgot who he was and who he was waiting for, and fell into resentment, causing the Creator to anger him.
Since then, in the underworld, he has endured the grievances of the dead, and in the mortal world, he has followed the cruel curse of repeating murder while swallowing the resentment of the living. Attention is focused on where the grudge that has plagued him for eons of time may have originated, and if it will end.
Correspondingly, the latest character stills show Kkokdu punishing humans with evident unfathomable anger. The other two photos reveal him as a samurai and a doctor.
Moreover, Kkokdu’s bizarre fate, what name he was called in the past, and what happened to him to lose even the memory of his previous life are some of the mysteries to unfurl in the story.
Meanwhile, it is also interesting to see Do Jin-woo, the person possessed by Kkokdu who returned to the mortal world after 99 years. Jin-woo has the same face as Kkokdu, but distinctly different. He is a doctor at Pilsung Hospital and is renowned for his skills and prestige.
He is caught up in an unexpected medical accident. While receiving the help of a doctor without qualifications, Han Han-jeol (Im Soo Hyang), to uncover the truth, Jin-soo ends up being taken away by Kkokdu,

The Season of Kkokdu will be broadcast for the first time on January 27 on MBC.
