“Vigilante” Confirms Premiere Date On Disney+, Unveils Teaser Poster and Trailer

The new Disney+ original series top-billed by Nam Joo Hyuk launches on November 8!

When a victim of a brutal crime sees his attacker get off lightly, he will dedicate his life to making criminals pay in Vigilante.

The series is headlined by Nam Joo Hyuk (Start-Up, Twenty Five Twenty One) as the vengeful vigilante Kim Ji-yong; Yoo Ji Tae (Oldboy, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area) as Jo Heon, a ruthless detective committed to stopping the Vigilante at any cost; Lee Joon Hyuk (Stranger, Designated Survivor: 60 Days) as Cho Kang-ok; and Kim So Jin (Through The Darkness, The Spy Gone North, The King) as Choi Miryeo, a broadcaster who exposes the Vigilante’s actions.

Directed by Choi Jeong-yeol, Vigilante is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by CRG and Kim Kyu-sam.

Tired of seeing the legal system fail, and repeat offenders being set free, Kim Ji-yong decides to step up and do something about it.

A star student at the police academy, he is a burgeoning martial arts master, a bookish academic, and has spent over a decade haunted by the image of his mother being beaten and murdered in front of him by a stranger with a bad temper.

When his mother’s attacker is set free, Ji-yong pursues the man and catches him in the middle of another attack. Exacting his revenge on the non-repentant offender, Jiyong is set along a path that will see him target other repeat offenders, and unwittingly draw media and police attention.

Unwilling to give up on his mission, Ji-yong must use the knowledge gained at the police academy to exact his revenge and avoid being caught. He becomes a model police student who protects the law during the day but lives as a vigilante who directly judges criminals who have escaped the law at night.

“Vigilante” Is Coming Exclusively To Disney+

Model Police Student X Vigilante

The released teaser poster attracts attention with the visual of Nam Joo Hyuk donning a police uniform on a rainy street. A reflection of his other persona – the Vigilante reflects in his shadow. Nam Joo-hyuk is a model police student during the day, but at night he becomes a vigilante and personally judges criminals who have escaped the law.

Gazing somewhere with a determined expression like a model police academy student, his Vigilante demeanor shows overwhelming presence, raising curiosity by showing the polar opposites of day and night.

The public wanted flyers of criminals scattered on the floor giving a glimpse into Vigilante’s firm belief that only criminals who have evaded the law will be judged.

In particular, the background is reminiscent of a dark back alley, and the shaking neon sign hints at the inner state of Nam Joo Hyuk, who is confused about what true justice is between a model police student and a vigilante, raising curiosity about what will happen to him.

Subsequently, the teaser trailer released together shows Vigilante, wearing a deep black hood in a dark alley, saying, “I should have lived my whole life reflecting.” It starts with a strong image of judging a criminal with a firm line, “From now on, I blame the law for letting you go.”

Pursuing Vigilante

Yoo Ji Tae (Jo Heon), the head of the investigation team who appeared at the scene of the incident, said, “This is not something anyone can do. He is a very sincere and righteous crazy man.”

In addition, broadcast reporter Kim So Jin (Choi Mi-ryeo) sees Vigilante realizing his own justice and senses that it is a scoop. She announces his existence to the world saying, “People want this kind of dark hero now.”

Lastly, second-generation chaebol Lee Jun Hyuk (Cho Kang-ok) shows enthusiastic admiration for Vigilante’s appearance, saying, “I was really impressed by the vigilante’s condemnation of the evildoers.

These are the people who pursue Vigilante with their own reasons and purposes. It foreshadows exciting developments to come.

In particular, Nam Joo Hyuk’s meaningful expression as he walks out in his normal appearance in Dark Hero Vigilante and the line “There is a hole in the law, now I will fill that hole” raise sharp topics about law and justice, and how it can make the world a better place. Expectations are rising for the birth of a new dark hero.

Vigilante will be released exclusively on Disney+ on November 8th and will be available in a total of 8 episodes, 2 episodes every Wednesday.
