“The Crown Prince Has Disappeared” Reveals Cast and Story Details

The Crown Prince Has Disappeared

Sharing captured moments at a recent table-read, MBN’s new weekend series gears up for its March premiere.

MBN’s new weekend mini-series The Crown Prince Has Disappeared Disappeared (LT), is scheduled to be aired for the first time on March 9.

It is a Joseon-set romantic comedy that features the turbulence, great fortune, and ultimate escape of two young men and a woman. Interestingly, it will narrate the story of how the Crown Prince is ‘bossed’ by the woman who will become the Crown Princess.

The series is a spin-off work of writers Kim Ji-soo and Park Cheol, who showed fresh material and spectacular development through Bossam – Steal the Fate. Director Kim Jin-man, who showed delicate emotional direction with Rebel: The Thief Who Stole the People steers the drama production.

The three introduced characters aim to completely overturn the paradigm of existing historical dramas, presenting game-changing ‘Joseon version of a romantic comedy’ that is full of laughter and at times, seriousness.

Concerning this, a ‘script reading scene’ was captured where the protagonists had their first meeting. First, starting with bright greetings from director Kim Jin-man and writers Kim Ji-soo and Park Cheol, the full-fledged script reading began with the five main characters, including Suho, Hong Ye Ji, Myung Se Bin, Kim Joo Hun, and Kim Min Gyu, introducing their respective roles and conveying their bold determination.

Suho, who has established himself as an actor by showing off his presence in Behind Your Touch and Sword of Aramun, suits up for the role of Crown Prince Yi Geon, who has lived a solid life as a crown prince, but one day suddenly finds himself at a crossroads in his fate.

Hong Ye Ji, who shows a variety of appearances in Love Song For Illusion, 100% assimilates with Choi Myeong-yoon, the famous daughter of Choi Sang-rok and the best female leader in Joseon. She shows off her unique charm by flaunting her acting that goes beyond cheerfulness and courage, sorrow and seriousness.

Myung Se Bin, who proved her second heyday with Doctor Cha, is once again collaborating with writers Kim Ji-soo and Park Cheol following Bossam – Steal The Fate. She plays the role of Queen Min Suryeon, and behind her gentle nature, she doubles her intensity by boldly expressing her sorrow and despair as she embraces the wounds of having to give up her love while trapped in the shackles of her status as Queen Mother.

Kim Joo Hun, who received acclaim for his outstanding acting skills in Dr. Romantic series and Castaway Diva, transforms into Choi Myeong-yoon’s father, Choi Sang-rok, and shows kindness and fierceness that are perfect for the innocent man who is Joseon’s best negotiator who does anything for the person he loves.

Kim Min Gyu, who has made a solid mark on the small screen with roles such as The Fabulous and Maestra: Strings of Truth, appears as Prince Doseong, the half-brother of Crown Prince Yi Geon and has beautiful looks and excellent martial arts skills vividly expressing his rough masculine beauty and natural talent.

Additionally, actors with deep acting skills such as Yoo Se-rye, Jeon Jin-oh, Cha Kwang-soo, and Kim Seol-jin showed their powerful presence, making the ‘script reading scene’ deeper and more solid.

The production team said, “The characters who face tangled fates will provide spectacular entertainment. Please show a lot of interest in the refreshing Joseon version of a romantic comedy.”
