“Buried Hearts” Uncovers Life-or-Death Money Game of Ambition, Revenge, and Betrayal

Buried Hearts

Set to premiere on February 14th, Buried Hearts delivers a story packed with high-stakes revenge, intense ambition, and the unrelenting pursuit of power.

This gripping narrative revolves around Seo Dong-joo, a skilled hacker who uncovers 2 trillion won in political slush funds. Consumed by a mission to bring justice to the corrupt world that destroyed his life, he risks everything in a relentless battle against absolute evil.

The drama is the brainchild of writer Lee Myung-hee, known for her critically acclaimed work Money Flower, and director Jin Chang-gyu, celebrated for Military Prosecutor Doberman. Together, they promise to deliver a visually and emotionally compelling story that delves into the complexities of human desires and the consequences of unbridled ambition.

At the center of Buried Hearts are three central figures whose lives and motives are deeply intertwined: Seo Dong-joo (Park Hyung-sik), Yeom Jang-seon (Heo Jun-ho), and Heo Il-do (Lee Hae-young).

Each character brings unique depth and energy to the narrative. Seo Dong-joo, played by Park Hyung Sik, is “the one who wants to take,” showcasing confidence, ambition, and unwavering determination as he embarks on a dangerous journey to dismantle those who wronged him.

Standing opposite him is Heo Joon Ho’s Yeom Jang-seon, “the one who wants to protect.” With his overwhelming charisma and piercing gaze, Yeom Jang-seon symbolizes a figure of immense power and presence, determined to safeguard his domain at all costs. Adding to the intrigue is Lee Hae Young’s Heo Il-do, “the one who wants to inherit.” As the eldest son-in-law of the powerful Daesan Group and president of Daesan Energy, Heo Il-do navigates a treacherous path to secure his inheritance and legacy for his son. His role in the unfolding drama remains a compelling mystery, as he stands at the intersection of conflict between the other two men.

The drama’s poster art encapsulates the core themes of Buried Hearts. Park Hyung-sik sits at the forefront of the round table beneath a glittering chandelier, his intense gaze revealing his inner drive and unyielding ambition. Heo Joon Ho commands the center with an aura of authority and gravity, while Lee Hae Young stands nearby, his enigmatic expression hinting at his complex motives. The tagline, “The moment you enter through the narrow door, a life-threatening money game begins,” perfectly sets the stage for the drama’s intense battles of wit, betrayal, and survival.

The production team describes Buried Hearts as a story where “every character is bound by their own desires, forming fragile alliances only to betray one another in pursuit of their goals. The resulting tension, heightened by the remarkable acting of Park Hyung-sik, Heo Jun-ho, and Lee Hae-young, will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”

This isn’t just a battle for wealth—Buried Hearts explores the far-reaching consequences of ambition, greed, and the choices people make when pushed to their limits. With its powerful cast, layered storytelling, and intense emotions, the drama promises to be a thrilling ride from start to finish.

Viewers can look forward to Buried Hearts premiering on Friday, February 14th, at 10 PM.
