Park Shin Hye Almost Did Not Star In Her Newest Film “The Call”, Find Out Why

Ahead of its global launch, The Call starring Park Shin Hye and Jeon Jeong Seo, is receiving the attention their newest project deserve.

After the success of her recent film #ALIVE, Park Shin Hye hopes to duplicate or maybe surpass the same rave for her latest movie, The Call.

The Call threads on the story of Seo-yeon (Park Shin Hye), who after moving to an old family home, receives a call from a stranger named Young-sook (Jun Jong Seo). She learns Young-sook lived in this same house 20 years ago, and they become friends. As they call each other, Seo-yeon and Young-sook make risky choices that could change each other’s lives drastically.

Confessing she once turned down the project, she relayed the reason why she decided to appear in the film. She explained how she received the script for the call after filming Memories of the Alhambra.

“To be honest, it is a work that I once refused. The scenario was fun, but physically at the time, also mentally, preparing for my next work was difficult,” the actress shared.

But after receiving the proposal from the filmmaker’s representative, she met the director again to hear the story. Admitting she enjoyed Director Lee Chung Hyun film’s Ransom, she was convinced of his perspective in terms of ideas and materials.

Reading through the script again, Park Shin Hye decided to give it a go. In addition, she admits to her worries for her new role as she wants to clearly differentiate her character.

The Call is slated to stream worldwide via Netflix beginning November 27.
