Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard Quick Plot Recap
It follows the story of a once passionate and warm Gu Chuan (Allen Ren) whose life pivoted after he got into an accident. He survived the accident by having his heart replaced with a mechanized heart.
Though he has been given a second chance to live, Gu Chuan needs to take care of his health – changing his lifestyle and controlling his feelings.
He then met a bubbly and hardworking Jiang Xiao Ning (Fair Xing), who became his assistant. Throughout Xiao Ning’s life, she feels that she always bring bad luck to the people around her.
Nevertheless, her positivity changed Gu Chuan’s plans and outlook in life. He bravely took the risk and expressed his emotions despite having a mechanical heart.

Flaunting Women’s Business Capabilities
Jiang Xiao Ning’s best friend, Zhao Yan (Chloe Zhao), powerfully yet beautifully broke the standard in the corporate world. In the business setting, usually, men dominate these workplaces.
Zhao Yan and other women experienced discrimination and sexual harassment in their work. They are seen as weak in the workplace and “controlled” by men.
Though Zhao Yan experienced all of these, it didn’t bother her and she continued proving that women should have equal rights. Her past struggles with men helped her to become stronger physically and mentally.
Other than Zhao Yan, who showed her charismatic morals, Gu Chuan’s female associates also proved that. Chuan Studio’s design director, Su Man Lin (Ge Shi Min), also showed her authority through her skills and talents as an architect.
However, she almost ruined her credibility when she began hurting Xiao Ning to win Gu Chuan’s heart. Still, her skills continue to prove that women can keep up with the craft and authority of men.
Giving Yourself Another Chance To Live Life To The Fullest
Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard showed all of the character’s changes when given one more chance to “renovate” their lives. In Gu Chuan’s case, his life was ruined when he helped Xiao Ning’s family from an accident.
Since his surgery, Gu Chuan has lost his reasons to live. To “punish” and take care of his health, he starts to push away his parents and doesn’t consider other’s feelings.
When he found out that Xiao Nings’ the girl he helped ten years ago, it showed how they view their lives. He then was inspired by her positivity to find new reasons to continue living.
On the other hand, Tang Zheng Cheng, who became part of planning Jiang’s family accident, repented after he got out of jail. He used this another chance of life to make up with his son, Tang Xu.
He put his heart into every meal he cooked for his son and tried to communicate with him. To atone for what he did, Zheng Cheng finally confessed the secrets behind Xiao Ning’s parent’s death.
Also, Zhao Yan opened up her heart again to love after the pain he experienced from past relationships. She always put her guards up and protected herself and Xiao Ning from cheaters.
Since Gua Chan’s best friend, Cheng Ran, proved that he is worthy of her trust and love, Zhao Yan slowly lower her guard. Even though Cheng Ran is known to be popular among women, Zhao Yan also helped him to change his habits.
Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard Musings
Like in most drama series, Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard has a weak start with its first few episodes. The characters slowly grew on me, and its plot made it interesting to continue watching it.
I first thought that it will convey a heavy and sad story. However, Xiao Ning’s vibrant character layered significant zest to how the story progressed.
Her outlook on life and the lessons she served made the series more heart-warming and comforting. Like how the characters healed, their stories healed the lives of their audience and encouraged strength.
Gu Chuan’s situation also made the audience feel relatable in terms of finding their goals in life. His story and growth resonated the meaning of continuously finding reasons to setting and achieving goals in life.
Overall, it is a series that everyone should give a try. Although I’m a bit disappointed with the ending, still, the series is created with love and leaves the heartening feeling of hope with its audience.
