Thinking her boss is enraged because of her losing the competition, Xiaoyou comes in between them. In the brink of falling down to her boss, Yanzhi quickly pulled her back up.
Yanzhi meets his parents in the morning, discussing his plans now that he’s back in the country. His mother has all figured out what his next steps would be, and that is to work as a designer and take over Yange, a new company his parents established.
Meeting Xingcheng after scoring five zeros and the brawl encounter the day before, has had Daly drag quirky Xiaoyou to the boss’ office.

“I am an expert in competing with troubles and endurance.”
However, instead of being dismissed, Xiaoyou is assigned to become an editorial assistant. Xingcheng, who saw through the fake transfer documents, declares that he will suit up as his team’s youngest assistant.
Daly drops a thick book for Xiaoyou to get familiarized with. Scaring her of the hellish life ahead of her, bad luck magnet of course thinks it is a piece of cake.

Settling to her new role, Xiaoyou diligently works on her errand. On her way to return some clothing she bumps on Yanzhi, who is also on his first day at work. Almost stumbling down, Yanzhi secures her in his arms.
Whining to Xingcheng on the chores she’s been making, she asked if she can be assigned work related to designs. Of course, Xingcheng puts her back to her place and left.
Creatively cursing her boss inwardly, her thoughts get interrupted when Xingcheng comes back to ask for her opinion about the magazine’s new issue draft.

“If you are sleepy, you can slap yourself on your face.”
Yanzhi goes to CHIC office to look for Xiaoyou. In between bafflement and wanting to fawn over the cute guy, Xiaoyou smiles brightly at his surprise visitor.
When she peeks on the envelope given by Yanzhi, she was surprised to see an appointment letter. But she fumbles in hiding it when Daly comes in with another pile of job ordered by Xingcheng.
Efficiently working on her tasks, Xiaoyou arranged it inside her boss’ office. Feeling tired, she yawned. But instead of empathizing, Xingcheng suggests for her to wake up herself by slapping her face.

“Goals are for those who achieved it. Do you know what are those that can’t be achieved?”
Xiaoyou curiously asks Xingcheng why he doesn’t get tired and he replies how she won’t survive a war if she easily gets tired working less than eight hours.
Remarking she’s not as talented as he is, she wants to become a designer because she has goals, even if she’s not as genius as he is.
Quipping the difference between dream and daydream, Xingcheng tells Xiao You that she won’t be like him, even if she works 15 hours like he does.
Sealing their supposedly mentor-mentee heartwarming career talk, Xingcheng gives her another impossible task without her finding a gap to refute.

Xiaoyou pulls an all-nighter arranging the files to digital format as ordered by her boss.
The next day, as expected Xiaoyou’s bad luck rolls another problem. She failed to check a review article that obviously will cause plagiarism issues.
In the meeting with the deputy editor, Xiaoyou suggests getting an interview with revered designer Lu Ren (Yanzhi’s dad), but Xingcheng refused strongly.
Accompanying her boss to a photoshoot, Xiaoyou, declines buying the shoes CHIC top model Wen Xi needs. Wen Xi picks on Xiaoyou given their failed competition result and apparent adoration to Xingcheng; who still keeps her despite all the troubles she has been causing.

Taking the side of his assistant, Xingcheng agrees to Xiaoyou’s decision of not obliging to her request.
Sighing about her recent mishaps, Xiaoyou conveys her thoughts to her boss of not keeping her as his assistant anymore. But Xingcheng responds on how her grit is that much to hold up to her dream.
Xingcheng denies Xiaoyou’s thoughts. Wanting to prove that “bad luck” is her twin, she gets the luck stick box nearby. Drawing the unlucky short straws consecutively, she mumbles how she has been unlucky all her life and she does now want him to be affected by it.
Shoving her crazy traditional thoughts, he tells her that she’s just dumb and not to believe in those ideas.

Still clinging on her request, Xiaoyou faints because of her low blood sugar. Xingcheng takes care of her as Lulu complains on the special attention he gives her assistant.
Moving to his next schedule, Xingcheng tells Daly to stock up some candies and forbids for asking why.
When Xiaoyou arrives back at the office, she goes to Xingcheng’s errand and realized that the necklace his boss asked her to take care is missing.
She goes back to the filming site to look for it to no avail. Her fate is turning glimmer as she learns from Daly that the necklace is important to Xingcheng like his life.

Hearing how Daly once was almost sent to the warehouse for dropping the necklace on the floor, Xiaoyou worries about the looming wrath she will receive from Xingcheng
Seeking comfort from her trusted friends, they shrug about her baseless woe. But she runs down all the hiccups she caused, and her boss was always there to back up her oversight.
Enter Yanzhi who chanced upon the friends talking and offers his help to recreate the missing necklace. Overnight, he finished crafting the necklace and gives it Xiaoyou.
Unaware that Xingcheng found the real necklace, she presents the fake one and was surprised when the real one was displayed by Xingcheng.
Furious for choosing to lie than admit her mistakes, Xiaoyou rants the succession of events that led to her lie. Xingcheng tells her to shut up and fires her.

Meandering about the girl who piques his interest, Yanzhi thinks of Xiaoyou fondly. Meanwhile, the boss and assistant who just had a verbal altercation bumps at each other in their drunk selves.
Declaring she is resigning, Xingcheng corrects Xiaoyou that she was fired. Chiding on how he has been working hard while people like her lax on her job, Xiaoyou rebuts that he lives a lonely life without friends.
Ranting about the excuse of having friends and family cause her failure, he takes himself as an example of self-made man. Unable to finish his words, he stumbles as Xiaoyou tries to support him.
But she ends up being pulled closely – locking her lips to his.

Episode 2 Peak Points & Afterthoughts
I am really feeling how fast-paced the story is given how Xiaoyou kept being highlighted seeking the man she met 10 years ago. At first, she thought it to be Yanzhi, but from the looks of it, it’s probably Xingcheng.
Doing what his mother imposes him to do will surely be taxing, as what Yanzhi experiences. As his fondness grows to the bright girl he just met, I like how the love tug-of-war would ultimately shape up with Xiaoyou and Xingcheng.
Yanzhi has established quite an engrossing second lead impression. That I want to borrow Xiaoyou’s luckless streak, if the downsides are hugs from the lead and supporting male leads. *chuckles

As the plot unfurls, I look forward to confirm my deduction on Xingcheng’s connection to Yanzhi’s father Lu Ren. Most likely they are family related, explaining that harrowing lonesome moment he had in the first episode. I think his pain is related to his mom.
