A lot has happened in the swift-moving first episode of Count Your Lucky Stars!
Count Your Lucky Stars 交换吧, 运气 author Mo Xi 漠兮 paints the life of Tong Xiaoyou (Shen Yue), a diligent and hardworking rookie designer, whose life has been but a series of misfortunes. Meanwhile, her imperious and stuck up boss, Lu Xingcheng (Jerry Yan), has caught all the luck in the world with not just his looks, but also his career and status.

Xiaoyou – the bad luck magnet
Confessing how luck has not always been her side, Tong Xiaoyou, has gotten used of her misfortune magnet body.
Strengthening her patience and developing her quick mind for the best work around, she has survived the demanding world of fashion magazine company, CHIC – where she works as an administrative assistant.
However, her ultimate goal is to become a fashion designer. What little luck she has, she make it up through her quick wit.
When she learned that her transfer can be decided by the signature of designer god boss Lu Xingcheng (Jerry Yan), she copied his signature based on documents she had him signed in the morning.

Xiaoyou’s dream job
After presenting her signed transfer documents, Xiaoyou moves to her dream department.
There she meets chaos as panda-eyed designers receive scolding from Xingcheng’s right hand. She was given a friendly warning of how their team does not rest, but she’s up for the challenge.
At night, Xingcheng notices Xiaoyou’s drafts which reminded him of a woman. It was definitely not a good memory. He tells her work is childish and a waste of the salary from the company.
Bravely asking her boss to give her tips to improve, Xingcheng had a rough night after his past memories are triggered. He ponders on the encounter he had with the new girl in his team.

Xingcheng’s Mission
The next day, Xingcheng asks assistant Daly to give the books to Xiaoyou, making sure she study it right there and then. Apparently, the stoic editor’s heart was either challenged or melted by her words.
Obliging to the persistent call to participate to a a fashion entertainment show, Shingcheng orders Daly to make Xiaoyou join the show dressing up the company’s prized model.

Rookie Designer Xiaoyou
Xiaoyou conveys how her love to accomplish her fashion designing dream has led her to that stage. Contrary to how Xingcheng was impressed to her clothing piece, the judges criticized her work through obvious minstration of the show’s pompous host, Mu Yang.
To make the matter worse, her competition is Lu Yanzhi, a genius designer who just came from overseas. He is also Xiaoyou’s role model.
Strangely not feeling the sadness after losing a game, Xiaoyou made quite an impression to Yanzhi.
Just then, Xingcheng ragingly approached them and pushed Yanzhi hard on the wall. Ready to brawl, Yanzhi kicks him on the floor and inadvertently pushes Xiaoyou towards him.

Peak Points & Afterthoughts
Fast-paced narrative, Shen Yue’s energy and Jerry Yan’s time-defying charm have so far assured me that recapping this series is worth it. Hoping for more Jerry Yan abs showcase would be a bonus. *blush
Structured to romantic comedy pizzazz, we know what to expect for: love entanglements, misunderstanding, connected pasts and saccharine frames.
Signaling a lively beat as well as some unfinished dreams and pent up emotions from the main characters, there’s no reason why you won’t keep tab on this series.
