Just One
Everyone knows that Cha Eun Woo is a member of ASTRO, a KPOP group from South Korea besides his extensive acting works and he didn’t fail to showcase it in the concert. Covering Lee Hyori’s ‘10 Minute’ with his flair on his first song is enough proof that we were up for a fun-filled evening, and he sent the fans into a frenzy when he performed his song “Fu*king Great Time”, a recent release sultry B-side track from his EP ‘Entity’.
The intense opening even made the star so exhausted that he was found lying on the floor after the performances and said hi to the fans while on the floor! How adorable. But also shows how serious he is in showing that he wants to give the best to his fans!
“Kamusta po kayo? Ako si Cha Eun Woo!” the star said after his intro songs. He asked the crowd how his performance was and shared that he wanted to get closer to the fans, so instead of going into a full concert mode, he decided to make it a fancon.
The idea of an ‘elevator’ was convenient to his fancon as he playfully stepped into his vision and each floor had a concept. Each concept is another part that unravels the actor’s personality, as well as his likes and more gifts to the fans through interaction.
Playful indeed when Cha Eun Woo spoils his AROHAs with picture-worthy moments of him while wearing a cat headband! Albeit shy in doing the stunts, he was still able to manifest that kilig kick (heart flutters) when he said, “AROHA, tampo ako!”
Other than being cute, he did not fail to show his duality when he also showed the ChaGUNWoo, and changed his outfit ON STAGE, with just a white tank top in between. It’s noteworthy to mention that his AROHAs are from teenagers to middle age fans and all of them were close to losing it when he did this.
The fans needed to breathe and calm themselves and Eun Woo helped them with that by serenading them with a sure Filipino karaoke favorite song, “As Long As You Love Me” by the Backstreet Boys and soon followed with “First Love,” a song from ASTRO’s EP Spring Up.
One of the cutest fanservice of the evening was during the “Cha-Cha Studio” segment wherein Eun Woo took a picture with three fans from the crowd, posing on the split screen camera. The segment was filled with extra amusement when the fans got witty and made the actor laugh in the process. Leaving an impression on your idol is always a goal, and the three lucky fans who were able to take a moment with his is priceless.
He continued the night with more performances and of course, as ASTRO, a medley will not be amiss. He performed “Crazy Sexy Cool,” “Knock,” and “Candy Sugar Pop by ASTRO, followed by “Jealousy” an OST from his drama A Good Day to be a Dog another track from his EP Entity “U&I” and “Love Sailing” another OST from the film Decibel.

10 Minutes to Eternity
The last stop for his elevator ride is to the stars and he cheekily tells the fans that he has a very ‘hi-tech’ device he invented in which he wrote the letter ‘P’ in star form, to immortalize the Philippines in his constellation of stars. This cluster included the initials of all the countries he made a stop to and he made sure to include us in it!
The encore stage was a banter of back-and-forth love from him and the fans as of course, as per KPOP and K-Drama tradition, fan projects are ever-present. The fans organized a usual banner, that says, “My love for you keeps rising, and it brings us closer together.” and also organized a fanmade video for Cha Eun Woo to see. Despite having experience already with a fanmade video made by the Filipino AROHAs from the previous fan meets, the actor was teary- eyed handsome actor towards the end of the video, showing that he still appreciates the gesture.
He was even surprised with an early ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting, stating, “Thank you because you guys are the first to sing happy birthday to me!” The actor will turn 27 on March 30, but the whole fancon was a celebration itself that it had to be squeezed in.
“To repay your love, I’ll try to be the good person you know. Now that I’ve come to this point, I realize how important all of you are, and I’m so happy that I’ve reached this point in our relationship that we can influence one another. I hope this year, your love and support for me.”
Cha Eun Woo, to Philippine AROHAs
The actor ended the evening with a promise of “Magkikita ulit tayo! Mamimiss ko kayo!” with his last song of the evening, “Love So Fine” an OST from his drama, True Beauty while doing more fanservice by throwing out some memorabilia the fans can keep.
The Cha Eun Woo effect is simply explained as he is charming, witty, and connects with the audience easily even through the screen, and it’s not hard to fall in love with those Bambi pair of eyes when it shows sincerity and truth. His fulfilled promises to the fans with his love string, and his fan concert is proof that Cha Eun Woo is more than just a “Genius Face”, as he is still ASTRO, a member of the talented group that we hope to see one day to come back.
