“You’ll never feel alone, if you’re after your dreams.”
Recognizing the photo that came out of Wu Bai’s notebook, Ai Qing rushes to their old house to confirm it. Finally, she knows the source of encouragement she had in the past years has always been Wu Bai. She looks back on her conversation with him on why he returned and realized the unimaginable devotion he has for her.
Meanwhile, Shen Zhe meets Ai Jing to plead forgiveness to the recent cheap stunt pulled by his ex-GF. Using his messages to prove he’s way over with Zhouzhou didn’t help him at all especially on the part he mentioned the happy memories they shared.
Melting Ai-jing’s defense by sweetly uttering his term of endearment, they patch up but he was shoved away when Ai Qing arrived looking gloomy.
Hearing her sister’s stories on the extra love mile Wu Bai has shown furtively, Ai Jing can’t help but exclaim how romantic Wu Bai was.
“What he feels for me is truly beyond my imagination.”
Ai Jing asks her if she will give him a chance and reconsider being with Wu Bai, and Ai Qing answers with a faint smile.
“Wu Bai is a nice guy.”
Teams SP and K&K both received invites to Mark Thorpe robot tournament in Chicago. After a tour at K&K main office, Wu Bai obliges to Ai Qing’s request to visit the competition field.
Han Shangyan called to her surprise and they chat about letting bygones be bygones. He also impliedly matchmake her to Wu Bai. After the phone call, she stares at Wu Bai with fondness.
At night, Ai Qing eats and drinks with the team as they talk about getting another chance to enjoy what they like and how being together makes them all happy.
Drunk Ai Qing accidentally sent a voice message to Wu Bai mumbling her need of hangover drink. Rescuing his drunk damsel in distress, he was let inside her room as he fondly watches over her adorable tipsy self.
He asks if she is unhappy, but she replied that she is actually really happy. Staring cutely at his face, she tells how he’s handsome. She also struggles to bring out the right words to say. Before dozing, she asks if he still likes her.
Asking incoherently what would he be doing if he did not enter the robot combat world, Wu Bai responds with a heartfelt answer.
“There is no “if”. As long as you are here. I will be here.”
“Except you, nobody is the apple of my eye.”
Ai Qing wakes up to the sound of the doorbell and receives fresh clothes from the hotel staff. The memories from last night also flood her thoughts. On her way to the briefing room, she asks Lin Yin who claimed knowing Wu Bai deeply if he has been involved in dating scandal. Ai Qing gets the response she wants to hear after hearing him say that Wu Bai only likes her.
Excited to see Ai Qing at the briefing room before the event, he moves his seat closer as Ai Qing does the same. She apologizes for troubling him with her drunk self. When breakfast arrived for Team SP, she specifically takes care of him even forbidding him to drink cold water. Lin Yin catches on her special treatment with their rival team’s captain, but she disregards their cute whining.
Facing the undefeated Wu Bai, Lin Yin gave a brave fight. But Wu Bai’s prowess secure the championship win with a convincing knock out! Staring at Ai Qing after securing his 300th win, he savors the moment of nearly-achieving his lifetime dream.
For his win, Wu Bai can choose ranking points, money or naming the cup in the next 10 years. Deciding quick of what he wants he declares the new name of the cup to be “Frigg Cup” after his devotion to Ai Qing who he secretly treasures her as his very own Frigg. Ai Qing learns the meaning of Frigg from Fei Yan, the little girl Wu Bai shared a room with, when they were both recuperating from eye treatment.
Wrapped in a moment of their own, the magic fades when applause erupted for DT to get his trophy. At the same time, AI Qing excused herself when she was asked by the boys why she was blushing.
“Sometimes I think love is a magical thing because falling in love only takes a blink of an eye. No time for making a decision and no time for consideration.”
Wu Bai receives praises from both the China teams and Mr. Xiang joins the fun by telling they are going for a round of celebration.
Ai Qing stares at her reflection and the heart-flutters from Wu Bai’s sweet words still won’t fade. When they found each other, she gets the note from her pocket and gives it to him. In the note, she bravely confessed the love she has for him.
“No one’s ever walked into my heart, until you showed up.”
On Ai Qing’s small palm lies the love he has diligently worked hard to receive. Wu Bai takes her hand and in the middle of the event ring, he claimed the kiss he has been longing to have for years. Sealing their relationship with another round of kisses, Mr. Xiang arrives to interrupt it. Warding off the man with impeccably wrong timing, Ai Qing goes out of her hiding place as Wu Bai hugs her tight.
“I’m making a model. I used a crawler software and started a discussion revolving around the key words ‘dating places’.”
Love novice no more, Wu Bai ups his game to win Ai Qing’s heart even more. His genius mind made a program that would suggest ideas about first date. *chuckles
97 is on point exclaiming the answer to the data he statistically extracted is just simple and he can even help him with it. So, Wu Bai asks him to get out so he can proceed with his analysis.
Meanwhile, Ai Qing’s is also in her happy zone – reliving the sweet kiss she just shared with Wu Bai. She also receives hot milk bottle from him and go for a sweet good night message.
“Is this your first time on a date?”
On the flight back to China, Wu Bai won’t miss the chance to have AI Qing beside him and had her seat be upgraded. When he cutely asked to be fed, he remains passive on the chocolate bread she offered.
But when she took a bite of it, he also bites on it. While holding her hand, he confirms they are officially dating to which she responds with a smile. He tells her not to worry and they would reveal their relationship when the timing is right.
It’s Wu Bai and Ai Qing’s first date and he already worries about making her wait for him. Teasing him on his first date, her amusement doubles when Wu Bai would order everything for her to choose. From giving the synopsis and buying a pair of tickets to all the now-showing movies, to getting all the food and drinks; Wu Bai literally spells I’ll give everything for you on his face.
Taking charge, Ai Qing walks him through how he can ask her preference instead of selecting all that she might like. Thankfully, he’s a fast learner and they were able to settle everything. But just as they are about to enter the movie house, they both receive phone calls to go at K&K camp.
Turns out that it was Wu Bai’s birthday that day, and the boys prepared a surprise. Mr. Xiang who is trying to matchmake Wu Bai gets a straight answer when he declares he’s already in love with someone.
“You being here with me is the best gift I could ask.”
Finding a quick lone time, Ai Qing faintly whines for not letting her know of his birthday. He replies he only wants to spend it with you. Worried about not being able to give him a gift, he tells her that having her is the best gift he could ever have.
Only needing a sweet kiss to seal that moment, Wu Bai moves to plant a kiss but halts when 97 calls for him to showcase his robot son’s talents.
Mr. Xiang also tries to make a move with Ai Qing, but Shen Zhe guards his captain’s goddess. Just then, Solo arrives and greets his daughter’s mom Su Cheng (K&K Team Leader) politely. He goes to find the birthday boy who made Mr. Xiang stop pestering Ai Qing.
He reveals that Ai Qing likes someone and she confirms it by giving a clue that he does not eat vinegar. Overhearing the conversation, Solo slowly deduces the meaningful glances shared by Wu Bai and Ai Qing.
Su Cheng talks to Wang Hao and formally apologized for causing his breakup with Ai Qing. He responds its all in the past. But when she tells her real intention of taking their daughter abroad, he snaps and rants about her being unfair.
Begging that she just want to make up, he strongly disagrees and bluntly tells how selfish she is.

“Wu Bai, would you go somewhere with me tomorrow?”
Going to Wu Bai’s room for the collated information he offered to give, she finds his love vault especially dedicated to her. Surprised to see it automatically opened, he reveals that he has set up access for his personal things.
Wu Bai walks her home after the party and when she asked if he can go with her somewhere, he gladly obliged.
Using the information she got from Wu Bai, she starts doing a report. She pauses when Wu Bai calls. He tells her how it’s his first time to be in a relationship. So, she should tell him if he is not doing something right.
Beaming at his sensitivity, she tells him that he’s doing good. When she realized he has not left yet, she lets her in to dry up his drenched clothes and hair.
Remembering how he imagined exactly what it felt being dried up by Ai Qing before, she smiles at his genuine adoration. She brings a set of new clothes. But just as he was about to change, they heard Ai Jing and their father coming inside.
Ai Jing listens to her father give relationship advices, and each time Ai Qing directs the question to her younger boyfriend. Like the possibility of being overly active or problem dealing with her in-laws.
Having enough of her father’s relationship pep talk, she urges him to go away. Breathing a sigh of relief, they hold it back because father remembered having a spare key and marches to Ai Qing’s room for inspection.
Hiding inside her closet, thankfully Ai Jing has quick reflexes and was able to send away their father. Trust Wu Bai to know what to do with a chance to be in close proximity with Ai Qing. He scoops in a heart-stopping kiss which Ai Qing gladly received.
“Wu Bai, lower your head.”
Ai Qing brings Wu Bai to a refreshing place for her birthday present. After checking in, they go to a nearby lake for some air. Seeing him block the sun for her, she asked him to lower down his head. Assuming she will give him a kiss, he got tricked because she only wants his cap. After fixing his cap on her, he carries her so she can block the sun rays for him.
At night, Ai Qing reveals her surprises of renting a projector so they can watch a movie together. She also prepared forget-me-not flowers and sang him a happy birthday with a cute customized Nobody cake. Wondering why she’s not on the cake, he pulled a small heart and pin it on the miniature Wu Bai leaning on Nobody.
Staring at his happy face, she accepts his gratitude for giving him the best birthday ever. When she asked him to make a wish, he replies with a wish for him to always be with her everyday. But Ai Qing is not yet done – and declared one last surprise for him.
Go Go Squid 2 Dt.Appledog’s Time Episodes 15 – 18 Musings
Episodes 15 – 20 of Go Go Squid 2 Dt.Appledog’s Time is a sure fan service treat as we celebrate Wu Bai’s love fulfilment with Ai Qing. I love that moment when Wu Bai hugged Ai Qing like his life depended on her, because it captured all those years of him waiting for his love to be reciprocated, and finally it happened.
Now that the romance is in place, I think the robot combat plot element would be heightened as a conflict. I swear the screenplay on this series is especially doting to Wu Bai. His sweet love lines won my heart over even before Ai Qing did. *wink Saccharine and heartfelt, delivering the sweetest words at the right moment is one of Wu Bai’s strong suits.
The key piece of information on Wang Hao and Ai Qing’s breakup was also revealed with the flashback of Wang Hao’s knowledge that Su Cheng, his ex-girlfriend, was pregnant when they broke up. Having no stability, she pleads for Wang Hao to take their child since she was sick.
Feeling bad about Ai Jing’s situation with her boyfriend’s mom and ef-GF is normal, let’s hope Shen Zhe remains firm in supporting her.
At some point the robot combat will be highlighted in the plot. Honestly, the frames from Mark Thorpe Cup didn’t interest me that much. But it was a fitting insert to propel the fulfilment of the romance highlighted in these four episodes.
In terms of pacing and narrative, Go Go Squid 2 Dt.Appledog’s Time takes on a comprehensible approach. It is making use of its romance plot efficiently and I can’t wait to see more of Ai Qing and Wu Bai’s love story.
