With the success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Joo Jung Hyuk expresses his utmost gratitude and promises to work harder in the future.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo depicts the story of Woo Young-woo (Park Eun Bin), who has a genius brain and autism, solving cases from a different point of view. As the story progresses, she encounters challenges and strives to survive after joining the large law firm, Hanbada.
The well-loved series successfully ended after airing its 16th episode on August 18.
In the drama, Joo Jong Hyuk plays the role of lawyer Kwon Min-woo, the mean rival of Woo Young-woo. Because of his character’s irritating personality, Joo Jung Hyuk gained the nickname “tactician” as he caused annoying moments in the series.
In contrast to his past projects, he received a lot of love for portraying characters with indescribable sloppiness.
Kwon Min-woo is one of the few villains in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. But from another perspective, he is also a realistic character who did his best to survive to secure his job.

Even actor Joo Jung Hyuk attests to his character’s realistic background and story during a short interview.
“When I read the script, I also felt that other characters of ‘Woo Young-woo’ were fantasy-like. In that sense, Kwon Min-woo is rather realistic and humane. So, when I was acting, I thought about how to look like a person around me.”
Talking about filming the series, Joo Jong-hyuk said he seldom had any scenes with the other actors because his character is opposite to their warm personalities.
“There are many warm scenes in our drama, but I always come out in the next scene and trigger the tension.”
Joo Jong-hyuk also shares how the cast had the best teamwork. Commenting about Park Eun Bin’s acting performance, he said,
“Our Park Eun-bin is such a great actor. While acting together, I thought, this kind of actor has to play the main character, I still have a long way to go. She’s strong and she’s so good. She is a friend who knows how to see the big picture that gives a lot of ideas for my role. Maybe it’s because she’s a senior actor. It is so good when she complimented me.”
He also praises Kang Ki Young, Ha Yoon Kyung, and Kang Tae Oh‘s undeniable acting skills.
“Kang Ki Young’s quick wit is the best. He is impressive for his impeccable timing to drop humorous scenes in the series. Ha Yoon Kyung is also a good actress. She fits well with any character. Likewise, Kang Tae Oh is a great actor, too. In many ways, I controlled my mind not to be impatient when filming. But when I was with them, I naturally got relaxed. I received a lot of help”.
Wrapping up the interview, Joo Jong-hyuk shares how he is determined to do his best in the future.
“I felt amazed and so grateful that you remembered my name. I will try to become an artist who is good at acting in the future. I will show you a good performance.”
Sticking to his acting mantra of enjoying the process of acting, the actor gave profound insights about nurturing a career.
“I started acting late. I think I started out with a vague desire to act. So there’s no impatience. I once thought that I would be happy to spend this life doing independent films. I enjoy the work of acting. I didn’t actually have the greed to act. I wanted to enjoy it more than I thought I had to do well.”
With the talented cast and crew of the extraordinary series, the production team announces their plans to have a second season after receiving a lot of love and attention from audiences worldwide.
While waiting for it, Joo Jong Hyuk intends to further his acting career.
“The next installment has not yet been decided. As usual, I’m auditioning for a number of works. Some of the films are waiting for the directors to confirm it. I am happy to meet a work I will never forget in my lifetime, but I want to get ready to meet new characters. I’m going to try to make the acting enjoyable in a better shape.”
