The Ferryman is a co-production between iQiyi and GHY Culture and Media and is currently available on the iQiyi International app and on iQ.com.

The first episode of the series brings Xia Dong Qing

Xia Dong Qing (Lawrence Wong) is a young man who obtains employment at the intriguing No. 444 Convenience Store. Olivia (Kate Kinney), a college student, runs into the store on his first day of work, pleading for help.

While Dong Qing initially believed Olivia was a ghost, it was later shown that her soul had left her body and she was in a coma, not dead. Dong Qing assists in her rescue on a prompt from Zhao Li (Qi Yuwu), and Zhao Li reveals a shocking secret about Dong Qing’s Yin-Yang eyes.

“I gave you those eyes.”

In Episode 2, Zhao Li swears to destroy Dong Qing

A triad boss kills an undercover cop, but then Zhao Li attempts to reintroduce him to the underworld. He refuses to go without carrying out his dying wish.

While fleeing from Zhao Li, his spirit meets Dong Qing, who assists him in escape, which enrages Zhao Li. Will Zhao Li and Dong Qing become adversaries? Or will they overcome their obstacles and work together as a team?

Dong Qing and Zhao Li form an alliance to uncover the truth in Episode 3

Min Chen portrays Qing Qing, a restless wife who suspects her husband of having an affair with a nyonya ghost. Her entrance throws a spanner in the works, as a suspected love triangle devolves into a tragic love story.

Dong Qing and Zhao Li partner up in Episode 3: Nightmares to solve the mystery surrounding Qing Qing and the nyonya ghost. Will they be able to learn the truth with Qing Qing’s spouse in the way?

Once again, in Episode 4, we get to experience Snowy’s amazing scenes with Zhao Li

Snowy (Tong Bing Yu) suffers from poor self-esteem as a result of her appearance, until she stumbles upon a bizarre website that changes her life. Snowy begins to attract notice for her changing appearance, but after a one-night affair with Zhao Li, she transforms into an elderly, frail woman.

She is now faced with the tough choice of reverting to her original nature or remaining a captivating young woman during the day and an elderly woman at night. The lesson learned is that beauty comes with a price.

In Episode 5: Reunited, we get a peek of Dong Qing’s possible previous life

When a young woman dressed in an outmoded pinafore, mistakes Dong Qing as her lover. As it turns out, she has been waiting 78 years to reconcile with her spouse, and Dong Qing happens to look just like him!

Olivia and Dong Qing agree to assist her in locating her beloved, but where will they find him decades after they parted ways?

A haunting incident occurs in Episode 6

Olivia and her friends decide to visit the haunted 404 dormitory, and they do something that we all know is a horrible idea: they use a Ouija board to summon the spirit that resides there. They enrage the red-clad ghost, who imprisons them in the dormitory with no means of escape or communication.

Will Olivia and her companions be able to escape? Or will they succumb to the spirit’s malice? To find out, tune in to Episode 6: The Dormitory Spirit.

With the first six episodes captivating viewers, the upcoming episodes next week are likely to gratify fans of suspense thrillers. Next week’s releases reveal how Dong Qing deals with the dormitory ghost and feature Jojo Goh in action as Hades!
