Connection Opening Week Story

Embarking on a promising career, Jung Jae-kyung (Ji Sung) is a top detective at Anhyun Police Station’s Drug Task Force. After receiving a special promotion for dismantling a notorious drug syndicate, he encounters a mysterious situation.

Jae-kyung is abducted and drugged by his captors for several days. Prior to this, he gets an SOS message from an old friend, using their high school emergency code. Grappling with his predicament, he chooses not to inform his team about the abduction yet.

His team is currently investigating a new drug on the market, which reporter On Yun-jin (Jeon Mi Do) is also covering. She becomes involved with a resident in her apartment building who has obtained the new drugs. Observing the resident’s bizarre behavior, the woman unfortunately runs into the street and is struck by a truck.

Sensing a major story, Yun-jin discusses the drug situation with her superior, aiming to uncover its mystery. Meanwhile, Jae-kyung discreetly probes his recent abduction, uncovering clues that a man named “Doctor” and “CEO Yoon” might be involved.

The situation worsens when Jae-kyung learns that his high school friend Jun-seo died in an apparent suicide. Extracting information from the police unit investigating Jun-seo’s death, Jae-kyung confronts Tae-jin (Kwon Yul) and Jong-soo (Kim Kyung Nam), who were contacted by Jun-seo before his death.

In a surprising turn, at Jun-seo’s wake attended by many of his friends, Tae-jin reads the will of the deceased, revealing a substantial insurance policy divided equally between Jae-kyung and Yun-jin.
