Marry My Husband Opening Week Highlights

In a twist of unfortunate fate, Kang Ji-won (Park Min Young) suffered cancer which made her terminally ill. She looks back on how she devoted her life to a loser husband and shameless mother-in-law.

When she learned that her treatment fee had not been paid, she went to her place to speak with her husband who was ignoring her calls. She took a cab and the cryptic driver returned the money she paid wishing her well in life.

Unknown to Ji-won, her husband Park Min-hwan (Lee Yi Kyung) is having an affair with her best friend Jung Su-min (Song Ha Yoon). She caught them red-handed and the subsequent emotional breakdown led to Ji-won being pushed to death.

“What’s bound to happen will happen. It just needs to happen to a different person. You’ve been coveting my trash. So, marry my husband.”

But life gifted her another chance. She wakes up a few years back and with knowledge of what has happened, she plans to exact revenge on her husband and best friend.

First, she goes to the hospital for a check-up. Receiving a healthy note from the doctor, Ji-won vows to keep herself healthy. She also begins a pleasant interaction with their boss Yoo Ji-hyuk (Na In Woo) who seems especially protective of her.

After breaking up with Min-hwan, she begins subtle distancing with her two-faced best friend. Ji-won begins interacting with other colleagues with whom she didn’t communicate in the past. Aside from her personal payback plans, she also intends to put unkind people in their right places.

“Getting a second chance in life means I can do anything.”

Realizing the events that happened to her are bound to happen, she figured to direct those events to other people. Her first mission is not to marry her husband. Since her best friend betrayed her, she intends to speed up the affair.

Coupled with that plan is to reclaim a proposal that Su-min stole and she loops in Assistant Manager Ju-ran (Gong Min Jung) to her plan. Proceeding to her ill intent, Su-min invited the department manager to propose they use Ji-won’s proposal and make it better.

Nearing a Sunday date Su-min proposed, Ji-won remembered it was a heartbreaking day when the date she thought she would be having turned out to be a high school reunion. A victim of school bullying, it gave another emotional scar to her. Looking back, she realized how Ji-hyuk has always cared for her.

When both Su-min and Min-hwan messaged her they would visit her place, Ji-won thought it was the perfect time to speed up the two’s affair. But Su-min changed her mind and she ended up seeing Min-hwan who wanted to sleep with her.

Returning the agony and unfairness she suffered, it’s hard not to be excited about Ji-won’s revenge game.

Root for Ji-won’s second chance at life in Marry My Husband. International fans can watch it on Prime Video.
