Mt. Seongheungsan Love Tree, a stunning Zelkova tree has been featured in Alchemy of Souls recently.
If you have a unique preference for marveling at resplendent trees, then you just have to include Buyeo County in your next trip to Korea.
In Buyeo, Garimseong Fortress is located. According to Visit Korea, it is a historical stone fortress built on the lower reaches of the Geumgang River to protect Sabiseong Fortress, the capital of the Baekje dynasty.
By ascending the stairway by the rocky cliff, a large tree comes into view. The tree is named “Love tree of Seongheungsan Mountain”.
Perceived to be about 400 years old, the tree has made appearances in numerous dramas. That includes Ballad of Seodong, Faith, Iljimae, Hotel Del Luna, The King Loves, and Missing: The Other Side to name a few.
Garimseong Fortress is open all year round. With its vast parking space, travelers can enjoy a preview of more mesmerizing scenery while traversing the fortress.

While in Buyeo, take advantage of nearby destinations that can make you appreciate more the culture and history of Baekje people.
Seodongyo Theme Park is a perfect example. It is an open film studio on a huge 33,000 square meter plot of land. The theme park offers various sets from Goryeo to the Joseon dynasty as well as royal residences of Baekje dynasty, the commoners’ village, the village of the nobles and more.
Ballad of Seodong and The Great Seer had used the park for the backdrop of some scenes.
You may also opt for a temple stay after visiting Songheungsan’s love tree.
Below Seongheungsanseong Fortress, the ancient temple, Daejosa, is situated. The temple was founded during the 5th year of the Baekje Kingdom.
