The series also features CEO Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang Yi), who has become jaded about love, and Nam Ja-yeon (Han Ji Hyun), a web novel author who’s inexperienced in love but excels at writing romantic tales.

With unique characters, intriguing romances, and heartwarming stories, No Gain No Love promises plenty of fun and entertainment. The series will be available on Prime Video in Malaysia and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Here’s why it’s a must-watch:

Rom-Com Queen Shin Mina Returns

After a two-year break, Shin Min Ah, known as the queen of romantic comedies, is back in what promises to be her most refreshing role yet. Her co-stars and the director had nothing but praise for her.

Director Kim Jung-sik revealed, “I read the script with Shin Min Ah in mind. She was the only one who could bring Hae-yeong to life.”

Kim Young Dae added, “Working with Shin Min Ah was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I was so nervous when I first met her, having admired her work since high school. She’s incredibly famous and beautiful.”

Han Ji Hyun also shared her excitement, saying, “Meeting Shin Mina was a dream come true. She’s my ideal type, and acting alongside her after only seeing her on TV was surreal.” With so much admiration from her co-stars, Shin Mina’s return to rom-com is highly anticipated.

Fascinating Characters

No Gain No Love boasts a cast of distinct and intriguing characters, each with their own unique backgrounds.

Shin Min Ah described her character, Hae-yeong, as “calculative and always considering whether something will lead to a loss for her. She’s smart, assertive, and has her own set of rules.”

Kim Young Dae introduced Ji-uk as “a convenience store part-timer who is the complete opposite of Hae-yeong, avoiding harm to others even if it means a loss for himself.”

Lee Sang Yi talked about his character, Gyu-hyun, a CEO who “doesn’t believe in love or dating due to his parents’ influence and prefers to stay single.”

Meanwhile, Han Ji Hyun portrayed Ja-yeon as “a web novelist who has never dated but is great at writing love stories.” With such varied perspectives on love and life, viewers are sure to find characters they can relate to.

Diverse Relationships

The diverse characters naturally lead to a wide range of relationships that promise to be entertaining. Director Kim Jung-sik noted, “The characters are really diverse. There’s the office romance between Ji-uk, who avoids causing harm, and Hae-yeong, who avoids loss. Then there’s the love story between third-generation chaebol Gyu-hyun, who doesn’t believe in love, and Ja-yeon, who’s great at writing love stories but has never experienced it herself.”

Lee Sang-yi added, “There are a lot of fun and different kinds of relationships, including those involving dating, marriage, family, and siblings. Watching these relationships evolve is a lot of fun. There’s something for everyone.”

Relatable & Comedic Moments

A true rom-com gem strikes a balance between comedy and relatability, and No Gain No Love is set to deliver both. Shin Mina shared, “I was drawn to the humanistic aspects of the relationships. I think viewers will find it relatable and moving. The script was fun, honest, and cheeky. Hae-yeong’s lines are so refreshing.” She also mentioned that her character doesn’t hold back and even fires off expletives when necessary.

Director Kim Jung-sik praised Shin Mina’s comedic talent, saying, “I was surprised by how funny Shin Mina is. You’re going to be shocked. You’ll see a different side of her.” Lee Sang-yi also teased some comedic scenes involving his character’s relationship with his personal assistant, describing it as a “Tom and Jerry” dynamic, where they have a great but playful relationship.

Unique Love Stories & More to Anticipate

The romance in No Gain No Love is as unique as its characters. One standout plot point is Hae-yeong’s fake wedding proposal to avoid losing out, which Ji-uk unexpectedly accepts. Things get even more interesting when Ji-uk ends up working with Hae-yeong after their fake wedding.

Shin Mina teased, “The fake wedding and office romance between my character and Kim Young Dae’s is something to watch for. Lee Sang Yi and Han Ji Hyun’s love story is really fun too.” Additionally, No Gain No Love will be available with subtitles in 26 different languages and dubbing in 10 languages on Prime Video.
