Recognizing their hard work, Kim Jae Young and Shin Hyun Been express their heartfelt gratitude for Reflection of You.
Reflection of You chronicles the story of two different women, involving love, betrayal, corruption, and revenge.
Kim Jae Young portrays a free-spirited sculptor, Seo Woo-jae. He showcased a figure that was entirely integrated into his character. Having his memories lost in the midst of the incident gave his stunning development more strength.
Meanwhile, Shin Hyun Been depicts Goo Hae-won, a woman who has lost her radiant youth as a result of her loved ones’ betrayal. It is a complex depiction of a woman who has dedicated her life to vengeance. Discovering Jung Hee-joo and Seo Woo-jae’s betrayal drove her to ruins and a wretched life.

Kim Jae Young’s Turning Point
Convincingly presenting Seo Woo-jae’s emotional lines, Kim looks back on his time with the cast, which garnered attention for working with Go Hyun Jung and Shin Hyun Been.
Following a lengthy downturn, Kim Jae Young consequently reflects on his desire to join the drama.
“During the slump, I worried a lot about acting and about actors. I got it, I was able to go back to the beginning, and it seems to be a work that made me feel desperate. The director really liked me and tried to express the character Seo Woo-jae well. It’s a work that made me have it.”
Moreover, Working on Reflection of You provided Kim Jae Young the courage to challenge himself during a period when he lacked the willpower to accomplish anything else.
“I was at a difficult time trying to go back to. But when I saw this script, I thought, am I happy, why am I like this, what is love, can I get married? It was a script that showed my own desires honestly and in every detail. So, I got it at the moment I was thinking about it. And, I felt like I wanted to try again.”
Correspondingly, Kim met with the director and assured him that he could do well.
“After meeting for about two months, I wanted to do more. I just modeled and naturally transitioned to acting, and I thought I was a lucky person, and I told my mom.”
Creating The Stylish Seo Woo-jae
With 15 kg lost for the drama, Kim attempted to adapt sufficiently for a hairstyle change. Likewise, he was able to finalize Seo Woo-jae’s look due to the unwavering support of Go Hyun Jung and Shin Hyun Been.
“You have to live for the drama to live.”
Receiving the assistance of the director and cast, Kim Jae Young meticulously creates the attractive aura of his character Seo Woo-jae.
“When we got together, Go Hyun Jung said, ‘You have to live for Woo-jae to make a drama.’ So both the director and the seniors were very considerate. I tried to create a completely different image from him.”
Working With His Seniors
In particular, working with Go Hyun Jung and Shin Hyun Been was a learning experience in itself for Kim Jae Young.
“Senior Go Hyun Jung gave me a lot of energy. Every line and every line I looked at. I was so surprised that she even did this to me even though it was the first time I was filming in a drama.”
Despite the feeling that he was up against the wall, Kim Jae Young earnestly expressed his gratitude for working with his seniors. Admirably, he is appreciative of Shin Hyun Been’s help in practicing a particular scene.
Shin Hyun Been’s Experiences On The Set
In the midst of gloomy and heavy content, Shin Hyun Been gave thanks to the seniors who worked tirelessly to create a pleasant atmosphere.
Besides this, the actress considered her own body to be exhausted in relation to her character, Gu Hae-won, who exhibits a wide range of emotions.
“She was exhausted while filming a scene with deep emotions. Isn’t she such a lonely and sad person?”
However, she looked around her and spared her words to reflect on the fact that each character in the drama faces a harsh existence.
“I am not the only one with a role with a deep story. I try to read the entire script. Each character has a fierce life. I tried to hide the lack of energy as I watched the characters living with their own suffering.”

Her Camaraderie With Go Hyun Jung
Mentioning Go Hyun Hung, Shin Hyun Been shares the fun she experienced with the actress.
”I tried to unravel and rob it while having fun while filming. In particular, there were many scenes full of tension with Go Hyun-jung. Rather, we shared a lot of pranks under the leadership of her senior.”
Thankfully, having a comfortable set while filming gave Shin Hyun Been an easier time working on the drama.
“It would have been painful if I had filmed the scene with emotions as it was. Go Hyun-jung said the same. Compared to the difficult and heavy story, the environment was prepared for filming in a comfortable and enjoyable way. I did my best.”
Following this, Shin Hyun Been compliments Go Hyun Jung as an actress who powerfully delivers her actions.
“Go Hyun Jung is a really fun person. It was the first time the actors met so often before filming. At Go Hyun Jung’s suggestion, Choi Won Young, Kim Jae Young, and I got together to eat and drink.”
On Obtaining A Satisfactory Finish
Furthermore, Shin indicated that their first time filming paved the way for comfortable acting through every scene.
“It was our first filming scene where Hee-joo and Hae-won were enjoying a date in the play. If the two actresses had acted like that in the beginning, it would have been difficult to get such a satisfactory result.”
Laughing at Go’s personality, the actress expressed how much fun her senior was to be with behind-the-scenes.
“When I met her, she was a more interesting person than I imagined. She makes me very funny. I think the humor code is right. She reacted very loudly to whatever I said. A grateful memory.”
