For Ahn Hyo Seop, his new series is a project that he is excited to work on.
In Business Proposal, Ahn Hyo Seop portrays Kang Tae-mu, a capable CEO of his own company.
The series follows the story of an office employee who goes on a blind date with her company’s CEO while pretending as her affluent best friend.
Ahead of the first broadcast, Ahn obliges for an interview detailing his latest character Kang Tae-mu while giving insights into his upcoming work.
Explaining the reason why he chose a romantic comedy, he relayed being attracted to the charm of the genre. Tracing his previous works in Dr. Romantic 2 and Lovers of the Red Sky, the actor challenges a new acting mood in Business Proposal.
On Portraying Kang Tae-mu
Ahn confesses how he was most concerned in bringing out the character of Kang Tae-mu. His character is described to be a rich and handsome man. He expresses being drawn to his latest character as well.
“Kang Tae-mu is portrayed as a character that everyone envies in the drama. He is seemingly perfect and handsome. He is good at various fields. When he works, he wears custom-made suit. His sleek-looking appearance from tidy hairstyle, cultured gestures and tone of voice capture the countenance of Kang Tae-mu.”
Expounding his character’s inner motivations, Ahn Hyo Seop conveys the perfectionist attitude of Kang Tae-mu will gradually change because of his meeting with Shin Ha-ri (Kim Sejeong).
“Because Tae-mu himself is so perfect, he doesn’t understand the small mistakes and loopholes of ordinary people. For that reason, he sometimes accepts them coldly and discriminatingly. The reason why Kang Tae-mu has such a personality and attitude will be known by watching the drama.”
Fondly sharing his affection for his character, Ahn Hyo Seop also talked about Kang Tae-mu’s unexpected charms.
“He is a perfect and flawless person when it comes to work. However, he has also childlike qualities who gets angry and rejoices over trivial things. He has a cool and cute side.”
Lastly, the actor also promises a heart-fluttering and amusing transformation in Business Proposal. He said, “There are a lot of humorous and refreshing scenes that are unique to romantic comedy. As the characters in the drama and Kang Tae-mu are new challenges for me, I am curious and looking forward to seeing another side of me.”
Business Proposal will premiere on February 28 at 10 pm on SBS. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
