Putting forward Bae Suzy as the focal character in its new series, Coupang Play dropped an enticing preview hyping viewers for upcoming release of Anna.
Following the teaser poster, the trailer for Anna was also unveiled with Suzy’s gentle narration of how “people also write lies in their diaries that they read alone.”
The image of Anna walking on a vast snowfield with heavy steps at dawn when there is no one else in the area. Then, the sharply contrasting lives of Yumi and Anna, a woman with two names, appear one after another, amplifying the curiosity.
Starting with a fancy wedding with Yumi, who is exhausted from the arduous life of eating cup noodles in a hostel, and changing all kinds of part-time jobs. It switches to Anna who is under the spotlight of the media for an event after having dinner with socialites. The unpredictable story of a woman who has had a different life unfolds intensely, providing a sense of immersion.
The series is based on the novel Intimate Stranger by writer Jeong Han-ah which received favorable reviews from critics. Director Lee Joo-young takes the directorial seat for this arresting new project. Rounding up the cast are Jung Eun Chae, Kim Joon Han and Park Ye Young.
Anna premieres on June 24 on Coupang Play!
