K-Drama Review: “D.P.” Delves On Disheartening Military Life Tribulations

Released in August 2021, the series received favorable reviews and love from viewers for its fresh subject matter, the arresting group of deserters, the excellent performance of attractive characters and actors, and a story that sharply illuminates violence and absurdity in the military, which can be said to be a microcosm of society.

D.P. 2

Jung Hae-in said, “I think I kept filming with the events that happened in season 1 in my mind and captured Ahn Jun-ho’s complex emotions such as guilt and frustration in his tired eyes.

Ho-yeol continues to be Ho-yeol. However, the situation changes, so I wonder what kind of face he will show in front of a new incident,” said Koo Kyo Hwan who responded with his trademark comic and maverick appearance.

Kim Sung Kyun, who plays Park Beom-gu remarked how Season 1 created an impactful image of an office worker who had conflicts in the organization. He is confident that the confrontations in the new season as well as decisions to make would draw tension in the story.

Conveying his thoughts, Son Suk Ku who played Captain Lim Ji-seop, shared the amplitude of change in Season 2 is great. It will feature faces and twists that viewers did not know about.

Joining the lead cast, Ji Jin Hee plays Brigadier General Koo Ja-woon, head of the Legal Office at the Armed Forces Headquarters.

It was a character that took on a challenge in terms of acting. He is definitely different from other roles I played before.

Kim Ji Hyun, who played the role of Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun, a legal officer at the Armed Forces Headquarters, tries to solve the case in the direction she wants by putting a specific frame in favor of the military.

Expectations are gathering for the opposing views of the D.P. team which constantly moves to change the reality where everything is in place and the new characters with different perspectives and how they will collide with each other.
