Kicking off its promotional run, Disney+ launches teasers for its first UHD series, Grid.
Starring Seo Kang Joon, Kim Ah Joong, Kim Mu Yeol, Kim Sung Gyun and Lee Si Young; the series confirms its first broadcast date on February 16.
First unveiled at the Disney+ APAC content showcase, Grid is billed as a mystery chase thriller between a bureaucrat and a detective who uncovers the truth about a cryptic system that can save mankind from an impending crisis.
The series is penned by acclaimed writer Lee Su Yeon who won various awards from Stranger. In charge of directing are director Lee Khan (The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful) and director Park Chul Hwan.
Acquainting viewers to the lead cast, the released posters give a peek at the characters.
Quick Character Sketches
First of all, Kim Sae-ha (Seo Kang Joon) is a persistent pursuer who joins Grid’s Korea Bureau of Management with one goal of finding the “unknown ghost”.
Next, Jung Sae-byeok (Kim Ah Joong) is a homicide detective who catches clues to a puzzling case where there is no given hint. When she witnessed an unbelievable truth at the murder scene, she collaborates with Sae-ha.
Management Bureau employee Song Eo-jin (Kim Mu Yeol) denied the existence of the ghost, but one day, when he catches an official report about it, he becomes embroiled in a huge mystery.
Then, Kim Manok (Kim Sung Kyun) is a mysterious murderer who is protected by an unknown ghost.
The unknown existence – the reality of the “unknown ghost”, is the driving point of the Grid‘s mystery. 24 years ago, the phantom created a global shield grid that saved mankind from the end of the world due to the solar wind, but it vanished like thin air.
But 24 years later, it reappears. It also becomes an accomplice to a serial killer for unknown reasons.
The Vanished Ghost
The texts on the poster” ‘Planned Murder, Changed Future, Need to Find’ hint at an enigmatic message.
The huge mystery of why the ghost, who was the savior of mankind 24 years ago, became the destroyer protecting a cruel killer, layers the cryptic narrative of the series.
Subsequently, in the trailer released, the eyes of the characters entangled with ghosts for different purposes attract attention.
Kim Sae-ha, a persistent ghost chaser who has been waiting for 24 years; Jung Sae-byeok, a detective who jumps into the mystery after witnessing the ghost disappearing right before her eyes; Song Eo-jin an employee of the secretariat of the ghost-finding department; and Choi Seon-wool the deputy director who does not want to miss the opportunity that has come after 24 years.
Armed with different purposes, these ghost-chasing people heighten curiosity. Above all, the mystery explodes in the scene when the villain Kim Manok is trapped somewhere and shouts, “If you catch me, you will die.”
The production team of Grid invites viewers to anticipate Grid.
