“Hellbound 2” Reorganizes With Kim Sung Cheol Joining The Lead Cast

Netflix announces Yoo Ah In will step down and Kim Sung Cheol will take his place in Hellbound 2.

Hellbound traverses the supernatural events caused by otherworldly beings who appear out of nowhere to issue a decree and condemn individuals to hell. It causes mayhem enabling the religious group The New Truth to grow in power and clash with those trying to uncover the truth.

Meanwhile, Hellbound 2 picks up from the events of the first season. New actors were revealed to appear in the new season.

Kim Hyun Joo reprises her role as Min Hye-jin, a lawyer who fights against The New Truth.

Kim Sung Cheol takes the role of Jung Jin-soo the first chairman who hid his journey to hell to protect the doctrine of The New Truth. Yoo Ah In decides to step down from his role due to his ongoing probe into substance use.

In addition, Kim Shin Rok, Lee Dong Hee, Yang Ik June, and Lee Re also return in Hellbound Season 2 to portray the back stories of those who were at the center of chaos.

Relevantly, new characters will add color to the series which will be portrayed by Yang Dong Geun and Lim Sung Jae. Making cameo appearances are Jo Dong In and Moon Geun Young.

Hellbound won the hearts of global viewers. In addition to co-writing the original webtoon series, Director Yeon Sang-ho took charge of co-writing the script and directing to expand his own unique universe.

With the shocking and refreshing premise of sentencing people to hell, Director Yeon awes and stimulates the audience, forcing them to ask questions on universal topics like life and death, crime and punishment, and justice.

Hellbound 2 starts filming this summer aiming for a 2024 release.
