Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook and Kim Mu Yeol To Star In Digital Drama “Hi Cookie”
Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kim Mu Yeol plan to portray a group of humans struggling with their desires in a swamp made of handmade cookies, which they thought was a sweet oasis in the desert.
First, Nam Ji Hyun (Suspicious Partner, Shopaholic Louis) takes on the role of Choi Soo-young, a temporary factory worker. Soo-young became the head of the household at the age of 18, dropped out of school, got a job at a factory, and is taking care of her three-year-old younger brother. She voluntarily jumps into the swamp for the sake of her brother.
Next, suiting up to the role Seo Ho-soo is Choi Hyun Wook. Ho-soo is a genius boy who maintains top grades at Jeonghan High School, the best private high school in Korea. Even in a difficult environment, he is steadfastly striving for his studies. But among his rich classmates, he is known as someone who is at their disposal.
Lastly, Kim Mu Yeol (Juvenile Justice) plays Yoo Seong-pil, the best college admissions consultant. Seong-pil is famous for making the dreams of students come true by producing the best results regardless of legal, expedient, or illegal methods. But he holds a cryptic secret. That’s why he voluntarily visits Jeonghan High School to serve as a consultant for the entire third year.
LGU+, which declared ‘U+3.0’ last year, launched ‘STUDIO X+U’, a studio brand specializing in content, as part of its plan to strengthen the production of original content as well as release various experimental entertainment content. Accordingly, it was decided to release the original mid-form drama Hi Cookie for the first time on U+ Mobile TV in the second half of the year.
“We will continue to contribute to the growth and expansion of K-content through planning and investment in differentiated mid-form dramas,” said STUDIO X+U, content producer of LG U+, who was in charge of co-production. As for the reason for choosing Hi Cookie, the production team and actors are armed with unrivaled presence and youthful sensibilities, and above all, the expectation that they will release a more advanced and unique K-school story.
It is also noteworthy that Arc Media, a global production company that has released differentiated works on multiple platforms, collaborates with LG U+’s STUDIO X+U for the first time.
Arc Media, which introduced KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama My Perfect Stranger, as well as Big Bet, which created a hot topic by breaking the maximum viewing time among Korean original content of Disney+ earlier this year, will also show Genie TV’s Not Others in the second half of this year. The reason why LG U+ selected Hi Cookie as its first original drama seems to be because they trusted the production company’s capabilities in addition to the charm of the work.
LG U+’s first original drama Hi Cookie will be released for the first time through U+ Mobile TV in the second half of this year.
