Lee Na Young, Jung Eun Chae, and Lee Chung Ah to Lead Mystery Legal Drama “Honor”

Three powerhouse actresses: Lee Na Young, Jung Eun Chae, and Lee Chung Ah, are teaming up in Genie TV’s upcoming original series Honor.

The drama promises a gripping blend of mystery, courtroom intrigue, and deep emotional storytelling as three longtime friends, now lawyers, confront a dark past that resurfaces after two decades.

Honor (directed by Park Geon-ho, written by Park Ga-yeon, planned by KT Studio Genie, and produced by How Pictures) is a mystery legal thriller adapted from the Swedish drama of the same name. The story revolves around three female lawyers from a fictional law firm, L&J, which specializes in defending victims of crimes against women.

The trio has been inseparable since their university days, carrying a friendship that has lasted 20 years. But when a secret from their past reemerges as a major scandal, their lives, careers, and integrity are shaken. Bound by solidarity and the will to fight back, they take on cases that intertwine with their own buried truths, raising provocative questions such as: “Is there a statute of limitations on revenge?”

Lee Na Young takes on the role of Yoon Ra-young, L&J’s star lawyer. Known for her eloquence, beauty, and commanding media presence, she has become a celebrity lawyer with hundreds of thousands of followers and frequent TV appearances. However, beneath her polished exterior lies a vulnerable side scarred by long-hidden wounds.

When her unresolved past resurfaces, Ra-young’s carefully built world begins to crack. For viewers, Lee Na-young’s portrayal is expected to be a striking departure from her usual drama image, showcasing an intense and transformative performance.

Jung Eun Chae will portray Kang Shin-jae, the head lawyer at L&J and the natural leader of the trio. With lion-like charisma, razor-sharp negotiation skills, and the ability to disarm opponents with wit, Shin-jae is a force in the courtroom.

Yet her unflinching strength is tested when one of her cases involving crimes against women collides with the very secret she has tried to bury. Following her powerful performance in Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born as Moon Ok-kyung, Jung Eun-chae is expected to deliver another layered and charismatic role that deepens the drama’s suspense.

Lee Chung Ah plays Hwang Hyun-jin, a fiery and uncompromising lawyer who thrives on action more than paperwork. Always on the move—her sneakers worn down from constant work—Hyun-jin refuses to tolerate injustice or corruption, even when told her intensity could break her.

Her personal life, however, becomes complicated when her detective husband begins investigating her past, forcing Hyun-jin to confront truths she has long avoided. Lee Chung-ah’s shift from soft elegance to passionate intensity is another reason fans are anticipating Honor.

What Makes Honor Different From Typical Legal Dramas

Unlike standard courtroom dramas that focus solely on trials and verdicts, Honor delves deeper into the personal lives of its characters and the bonds that hold them together. It is as much a story about friendship, loyalty, and survival as it is about justice.

Director Park Geon-ho, known for Good or Bad Dongjae, is expected to bring his keen social awareness and emotional sensitivity to the project. Writer Park Ga-yeon, praised for the intricate storytelling of Train, ensures a tightly woven narrative that balances mystery, suspense, and human drama.

The production team has stated:

“Beyond a simple courtroom drama, we aim to deliver a strong, differentiated narrative of female lawyers confronting the past while fighting for justice. Our goal is to create a gripping and immersive series that will keep audiences watching until the very end.”

Honor is slated to premiere in the first half of 2026 on Genie TV and ENA. With its high-profile cast, gripping premise, and adaptation from an internationally acclaimed format, it is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated K-dramas of 2026.

With Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Chung-ah leading the cast, Honor promises not only strong performances but also a story that resonates with themes of justice, solidarity, and confronting long-buried truths. For fans of mystery thrillers, courtroom dramas, and female-driven narratives, this series should be high on the watchlist.
