In addition to the production announcement, Queen of Tears presents Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won as its main leads.
On December 5, Studio Dragon affirms the production of an upcoming drama, Queen of Tears. It is a collaboration between the writer Park Ji Eun (My Love from the Star, Legend of the Blue Sea, Crash Landing on You) and directors Jang Young Woo (Crash Landing on You) and Kim Hee Won (Vincenzo, Little Women).
For the cast, Kim Soo Hyun (It’s Okay Not To Be Okay) and Kim Ji Won (My Liberation Notes) have been selected for the lead roles. They will portray a couple in the drama, and their scenes together will bring laughter and inspiration to the audience.
Kim Soo Hyun portrays Baek Hyun-woo, a key figure in Yongduri Village and the Queens Group’s legal director. Meanwhile, Kim Ji Won plays Hong Hae-in, the Queens Department Store owner and third-generation conglomerate heiress of the Queen’s Group.
The compelling narrative of this couple as they face and overcome distressing obstacles is anticipated to move the viewers and help them appreciate the value of family.
Queen of Tears is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2023.
