Nearing its release date, Melancholia revealed character stills of Lee Do Hyun submerging in the world of Mathematics.
Directed by Kim Sang Hyub and written by Kim Ji Woon, Melancholia is the story of two math geniuses who got trapped in a taboo scandal. After four years, they meet again and work together to reveal corruption and regain their reputation.
Baek Seung-Yoo (Lee Do Hyun) entered the world of Mathematics at the age of 10 because he can solve college-level math problems. However, at the age of 12, he suddenly disappeared.
Meanwhile, Im Soo-Jung (Ji Yoon Soo) radiates too much positiveness with her bright smiles and light aura. She’s also a high school math teacher who passionately teaches her students while enjoying the subject.
Lee Do Hyun as a Handsome Mathematician Boy
In the teaser photos, Do Hyun looks stunning and becomes an eye-candy while he is solving math problems on the board with lights closed, focusing only on himself and the scribbled numbers. His eyes looking intently with the numbers he is writing, Seung-Yoo proves that he can handle math like no other.
He is also seen holding a camera with his uniform which rises a curiosity about what other hobbies Seung-Yoo has. The mystery of his disappearance when he was a kid was a big question for all the viewers. Along with his relationship with mathematics and why he is very good at it.
In the last photo, sitting beside a white car, Seung-Yoo looks serious again with his pen and paper. With the latest character of Do Hyun, many are excited to witness his geeky portrayal as a student who got whipped by numbers.
The story of Seung-Yoo is yet to unveil along with his relationship with Soo-Jung (Ji Yoon Soo), his reason for his disappearance, and their plan to expose the corruption happening to their school.
