Following various teasers, the drama director explains the creative process and his motivation for directing it.

Let’s Get Grabbed by the Collar is a story about the main characters finding true love while digging into the truth of a murder case. I was very attracted to it when I first received the script. It was a story about love and people that lingered in my head for a long time. I thought that viewers these days would be able to sympathize with it.”

Writer Bae Soo-young also said, “It is painful and difficult. It was painful and comforting because of love. I wanted to convey the message of how love is what I want to achieve even if I have to endure everything. Therefore, the main character and those around him face the waves of life that can come to anyone. I wanted to capture the inner lives of various characters.

Writer Bae continued, “It was interesting to see the part in the novel where the main character gets involved in an incident at the peak of his life. The relationship between the characters, which was not in the original work, will be highlighted. Through the intimate and deep relationship among them, the story unfolds in layers. We will delve into the hidden details of the incident in an exciting way.

Echoing the writer’s thoughts, Director Lee assured that the drama’s script has a strong narrative. With that, he confessed having concerns about how to convey it well to viewers. In the end, he realized that the actor’s performance was important so he put a lot of effort into casting.

Kim Ha Neul is, without a doubt, a great actress. I thought that if she worked in a complex genre called investigative romance, she would be able to see a different side of herself. The chemistry between her and her co-stars Yeon Woo Jin and Jang Seung Jo is really good. Every time we meet each other, we talk a lot about acting. The strength of our drama is the acting of the actors. The staff and actors are all great. We are complementing each other’s shortcomings and turning them into strengths.”

Expressing faith in Yeon Woo Jin and Jang Seung Jo, Writer Bae describes the male leads’ charming points.

Yeon Woo Jin, who has soft charisma, is a more solid embodiment of Kim Tae-heon thanks to the aura felt in his eyes, tone of voice, and body language. Also, Jang Seung Jo is an actor with a dual charm who feels boyish and adult at the same time. Thanks to Seol Woo-jae, the story was completed amazingly.”

Lastly, director Lee and writer Bae also revealed viewing points for prospective viewers.

Director Lee said, “It will be exciting and fun chasing the case and tracking down who the culprit is. I hope viewers will sympathize with and enjoy the protagonist’s journey of struggle,” while writer Bae said, “It’s like grabbing someone by the collar. I hope this is a drama where you can feel that holding someone’s hand is more meaningful and precious.”

Let’s Get Grabbed by the Collar will premiere on March 18th at 10:10 PM.
