Office Workers Become Crypto Dreamers in New MBC Drama Starring Lee Sun Bin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo Aram and Kim Young Dae

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Let’s Go to the Moon is launching this September with a cast that’s already winning hearts before the first episode airs.

At the recently revealed script reading, Lee Sun-bin, Ra Mi-ran, Jo A-ram, and Kim Young-dae brought the room to life with powerful performances and pitch-perfect comedic timing, teasing a unique blend of laughter, relatability, and emotional depth.

Based on the hit novel by Jang Ryu-jin, Let’s Go to the Moon (LT) follows three financially strapped women who jump headfirst into coin investment in a desperate bid to break free from their paycheck-to-paycheck lives. It’s a survival story dressed in comedy—a refreshingly real look at modern struggles wrapped in sharp wit and heartfelt friendship.

The script reading buzzed with energy as the ensemble locked into their roles with uncanny synergy. Director Oh Da-young, writer Na Yoon-chae, and the entire production crew watched as their characters seemingly leapt off the page, led by the dynamic chemistry of the lead cast.

Lee Sun Bin transforms into Jeong Da-hae, a woman living an unremarkable life full of quiet persistence. Born into humble circumstances and now working a thankless office job with “average skills and no stand-out traits,” Da-hae is both everywoman and unsung hero. Lee Sun-bin’s performance captured her gentle toughness and emotional nuance—so convincing, it felt as though Da-hae herself had walked into the room. This may well be the character that redefines her career.

Ra Mi Ran, no stranger to scene-stealing roles, plays Kang Eun-sang, an unassuming office worker by day and secret investment fiend by night. With her signature comedic flair and layered delivery, Ra Mi-ran nailed the balance between subtle hilarity and poignant depth, proving once again why she’s one of Korea’s most versatile performers. She’s poised to add another classic to her long list of hits.

Jo Aram brought zest and spontaneity to her role as Kim Ji-song, a bold, carefree millennial who lives by the motto: “Let your left hand spend what your right hand spends.” A playful blend of quirky charm and confidence, Jo A-ram’s portrayal lit up the script reading with infectious energy. With this role, she’s expected to broaden her range and win over an even wider audience.

Together, Da-hae, Eun-sang, and Ji-song form the unlikely trio nicknamed “Munani”—a wordplay meaning “not so fancy”—and yet, their synergy is anything but dull. Despite this being their first time working together, the chemistry between Lee Sun-bin, Ra Mi-ran, and Jo A-ram felt natural and lived-in, sparking huge anticipation for their on-screen bond.

Adding an intriguing twist to the mix is Kim Young Dae as Ham Ji-woo, the youngest executive at Marron Confectionery. He’s smart, handsome, and rich—the kind of “chaebol” archetype you’d expect in a romantic drama. But unlike the others, Ji-woo isn’t chasing money; he’s chasing dreams. How will this elite outsider entangle himself with three financially desperate co-workers? The contrast alone promises sparks, laughs, and unexpected depth.

Backed by a stellar supporting cast—including Kim Mi-kyung, Eum Moon-seok, Hong Seung-hee, Ahn Dong-goo, Oh Seung-ah, and Seo Ji-soo—Let’s Go to the Moon builds a warm, bustling world inside the fictional “Marron Confectionery.” With seasoned veterans and rising stars, the workplace dynamics are expected to feel both hilariously exaggerated and deeply familiar.

The production team shared their excitement after the reading:

“We were blown away by how quickly the actors embodied their roles. The chemistry was instant, and the emotional beats hit hard—even in the first reading. Let’s Go to the Moon is a drama that candidly reflects the lives of ordinary people, wrapped in humor and human warmth. We’re working hard to deliver a series that comforts and entertains in equal measure.”

Let’s Go to the Moon will premiere on MBC this September, bringing with it a comedy rooted in reality, powered by friendship, and elevated by a cast whose synergy is truly out of this world.
