After introducing the titular role of Jung Yu Mi in The School Nurse Files, Netflix followed it up with its male lead presentation of dazzling actor Nam Joo Hyuk.

 

Painting the story of Ahn Eun-young (Jung Yu Mi), the series traverses her journey as a school nurse who realizes cryptic occurrences at her new school, she untangles the mysteries with the help of Classical Chinese teacher Hong In-pyo (Nam Joo Hyuk).

Nurse Eun-young has special ability to see “supernatural Jellies” that are invisible to everyone else. Representing invisible blobs of greed, the Jellies were inadvertently unleashed by In-pyo from its containment seal.

With Eun-young having the power to see the ‘jellies’, she confronts a challenging life battling supernatural creatures. Lucky for her, she discovers that In-pyo has a special energy that recharges her power and protects her. Together, they wage war against the Jellies to defend the school and the students.

Classical Chinese Literature Teacher With Amazing Supernatural Power

For his new role, Nam Joo Hyuk portrays Hong In Pyo. Curious by nature, he readily steps into the fight of Eun-young to help. As the grandson of the school founder, he is dedicated to protecting the school and the students. He also discovered his gift of recharging Eun-young with his positive energies.

The unveiled character photos feature the lively and serious sides of Hong In Pyo. In an interview, Nam Joo Hyuk revealed why he took the role. “The material is so fresh and I was curious about the jellies.” Regarding In Pyo, Nam hints about his qualities, “On the outside, he may look cold, but he is a curious friend.”

Acclaimed female creators, writer Chung Se-rang and director Lee Kyoung-mi, have joined forces in creating The School Nurse Files.

School Nurse Ahn Eun-young, the novel the series is based on, won the 2013 Changbi Novel Prize and the 2017 Hankook Ilbo Literary Award. Having won such accolades, there is a lot of excitement about Chung Se-rang working on a series based on her popular novel.

Director Lee Kyoung-mi worked on acclaimed films Crush and Blush and The Truth Beneath fame.

The fun and magical world of The School Nurse Files slates its launch on September 25 only on Netflix.
