Jung Hae In and Jung So Min from Love Next Door evoke the romantic vibe of “best friends becoming something more.”
Love Next Door is a neighborhood romance filled with twists and turns between a woman attempting to reboot her flawed life and the living reminder of her past, her mom’s friend’s son. The story of Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu, who are each other’s embarrassing past, reuniting at a pivotal moment in their lives, promises plenty of laughter and warm moments.
This project brings together director Yoo Je-won and writer Shin Ha-eun for the first time since Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, raising fans’ expectations for another heartwarming romantic comedy from tvN.
The released two charming posters on the 19th showcase the sweet chemistry between the lead stars. These posters tease the intriguing evolution of Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min), who have always been friends rather than seeing each other as potential romantic partners.
The “real friends” posters stand out with their refreshing and lively atmosphere. The first poster captures Seung-hyo and Seok-ryu’s playful smiles as they sit on neighborhood stairs bathed in summer sunlight filtering through green leaves. Though they have left childhood and school days behind, their interaction makes them seem as youthful and spirited as ever.
The second poster shows a close-up of Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu holding candy canes and affectionately touching each other’s faces, adding a fluttery excitement. Their natural and comfortable demeanor amplifies the anticipation. With the tagline “You are mine, I am your living dark history,” the posters heighten curiosity about their complex relationship.
Jung Hae In stars as Choi Seung-hyo, a perfect son blessed with looks, personality, and talent. As the head of an architectural firm and a young architect in the spotlight, his peaceful life is disrupted by the reappearance of Bae Seok-ryu. Fans are eager to see how Jung Hae In, in his first romantic comedy role, will captivate audiences.
Jung So Min returns as Bae Seok-ryu, a once-successful product manager who suddenly decides to restart her flawed life. Her role promises to bring laughter, excitement, tears, and empathy through her refined romantic comedy performance.
The production team of Love Next Door commented, “Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min will transform into the ‘ideal’ boyfriend and girlfriend that everyone dreams of at least once. Their realistic and unadorned acting will deepen the immersion into their characters’ relationship and story.” They added, “Look forward to the dark histories of Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu recorded in their memories, as well as the new story that will unfold after their reunion.“
Love Next Door premieres at 9:20 PM on August 17th.
