Monstrous unveils new character posters exuding a dark atmosphere.
Scheduled to premiere on April 29, TVing original series, Monstrous releases new character posters showcasing each character in the dark while lost in the chaos, fear, and madness.
With the collaboration of director Jang Kun Jae and writers Yeon Sang Ho and Ryu Yong Jae, Monstrous is a thriller that deals with the supernatural. With the cursed Buddha statue appearing in a village, people begin to see hell and experience bizarre phenomena.
Character posters of Koo Kyo Hwan, Shin Hyun Been, Kwak Dong Yeon, Kim Ji Young, and Nam Da-reum present each character’s fate battling against strange forces.
Koo Kyo Hwan as Jung Ki-hoon
Transforming into an archaeologist who studies supernatural phenomena, Koo Kyo Hwan takes the role of Jung Ki-hoon. Also running an occult magazine and Youtube channel of Monthly Ghost Stories, his character encounters an extraordinary phenomenon.
A sense of crisis can be felt with the written warning, “Never look at it,” readying Jung Ki-hoon to face a strange power.
Shin Hyun Bin as Lee Soo-jin
Situated in chaos, Shin Hyun Bin portrays Lee Soo-jin, who is a genius pattern decoder. After the loss of her only daughter and separation from her husband Jung Ki-hoon, she finds herself in the middle of a catastrophe while living alone in Jinyang-gun.
The phrase “That person…is here,” featured in her character poster, points to the reality that her character is facing.
Kwak Dong Yeon as Kwak Yong-ju
Possessed by a trouble maker, Kwak Yong-ju is played by Kwak Dong Yeon. He appears as a crooked person at first glance with a crazy look, and causes goosebumps.
His character sparks curiosity about how his risky actions could contribute to the bizarre phenomena that the village is encountering.
Kim Ji Young as Han Seok-hee
Displaying her unique charisma and leadership, Kim Ji Young portrays Han Seok-hee, a strong police chief. Despite her strength, she struggles to save her son Han Do-kyung from the mysterious incident that has happened in her village.
Her tenacious expression and the written phrase, “I will definitely save you,” show that she is ready to face the strange phenomena with Jung Ki-hoon.
Nam Da Reum as Han Do-kyung
Remaining the only human being who does not lose one’s goodwill among the people in Jinyang-gun, Nam Da Reum takes on the role of Han Do-kyung. With people who are in a state of chaos, he aspires to pursue a normal life without any noise. However, with the disaster that the village faces, his resistance is awakened.
Considering the instability his village is facing, how his character deals with the people running away from their village can be anticipated.
Monstrous, produced by Climax Studio known for their past works Hellbound and D.P., is set to be released on April 29.
