Realizing his happy ending dream is impossible with Do-hee, Gu-won makes a painful choice.

My Demon Episode 14 Highlights
Previously, Gu-won was able to convince Kim Se-ra, Noh Suk-min’s wife to go to the police to report her husband after she confessed his evildoings.
On the brink of being fatally choked, Gu-won arrives to save Do-hee. Suk-min also chooses to fall on the water rather than face his downfall.
“Call my name. I’ll answer you every time.”
Suk-hoon meets them to report on the investigation as Suk-min’s body has not been found yet.
Do-hee who learned about Madam Ju’s possible involvement in her parents’ demise is bothered by what Suk-min revealed. Gu-won is by her side knowing she’s emotionally stressed.
Admitting her fear of being lost if Suk-min’s words about Madam Ju are true, Gu-won reassures Do-hee that the last message she received from Madam Ju reveals her heart as humans in the face of death reveals only the truth.
Remembering the priest Madam Ju is close with, Do-hee and Gu-won visit him. The priest reveals the real story of how she chased after Do-hee’s parents after the verbal altercation. In reality, Do-hee’s father made a contract with Gu-won and was due to die that night. Their car unfortunately went berserk and bumped into a post.
“Humans are always each other’s living hell.”
Sensing something is wrong after Do-hee’s conversation with the priest, Gu-won visits the priest and learns how he made Madam Ju live uprightly after seeing him complete the contract with Do-hee’s father.
Do-hee also witnessed him nonchalantly denied a woman asking to cut the deal. When Gu-won realized she saw what happened, they entered an impasse.
Later, Gu-won meets ajumma god who tells him how humans are each other’s hell.
With his involvement with Do-hee’s father, Gu-won decides to take her for a walk and end his relationship with her. When she calls for his name, he doesn’t respond anymore, breaking his initial promise.
My Demon Episode 14 Musings
Gu-won makes a realistic and agonizing choice that befits their situation at the moment. His contract with Do-hee’s father suggested a leash of life when he saw him needing help. More clarity is expected to be revealed next week.
We know that the posit of Suk-min’s unrecovered body points to him being possibly alive and a final attempt at Do-hee’s life. Probably, that would reconnect her to Gu-won.
Hopefully, it would not be as ruthless of him offering her a wish in exchange for hell time.
