Kim So Hyun and Hwang Min Hyun convey stories about their latest roles in My Lovely Liar!
My Lovely Liar traverses the romance story of a woman who can’t trust people because of her ability to detect lies and a genius composer who hides an unspeakable identity.
The series is billed as an exciting love story with hints of intrigue that would present a different flavor of reality-based fantasy sprinkled in a romantic comedy.
Director Nam Sung-Woo and writer Seo Jeong-eun, who showed delightful and sensuous productions through My Roommate is a Gumiho, Love In Contract, and Kkondae Intern, are working together to bring another energizing treat for drama fans.
Kim So Hyun transforms into Mok Sol-hee, a liar hunter who can hear lies. Growing up listening to all the lies in the world, she is cynical about everything. Although she has unrivaled abilities, she considers herself a curse rather than a blessing.
One day, when her faith in humans hit rock bottom, Kim Do-ha (Hwang Min Hyun), a man who is terribly suspicious but never lies, comes next door and she faces a new phase in her life.

Expectations are focused on Kim So Hyun’s performance, which will focus on Mok Sol-hee’s colorful charms, from her professional side to her unexpected eccentricity.

Interestingly, life takes a turning point, a refreshing charm, and even a thrilling romance, as Kim Do-ha, the suspicious man next door, appears in front of the sometimes cynical and sometimes lonely Mok Sol-hee.
Relaying her thoughts about her new character, Kim So Hyun also invites viewers to look forward to My Lovely Liar.
“When I first read the script, Mok Sol-hee’s image of confidence without avoiding the ability to hear lies was attractive. It was heartbreaking and fun to see her use her special ability appropriately as a liar hunter.“
Describing Sol-hee and how she prepares for it, Kim mentioned taking the natural route.
“Mok Sol-hee lives listening to lies as if it was a normal thing. She is a friend who does not try to be fair and lives at a distance from everyone. But she has a big heart. She doesn’t care about others and doesn’t feel any reason to care, so sometimes she acts as she pleases and has an outlandish side. There are a lot of parts in her life where she hides herself, so I tried to play her character without defining it. “
Kim Do-ha, a Genius Composer with Unspeakable Identity
Likewise, attention is also focused on the transformation of Hwang Min Hyun, who will complete Kim Do-ha, a genius composer who has a complex inner side, with his own color.
The recent photos released by the production team contain the past and present of Do-ha. He is seen as a normal happy high school without a shadow of a shade on his face as he reads his textbook in class.
In contrast, the current Kim Do-ha is different. Even while sitting in front of a grand piano and playing, he does not take off the mask that completely covers his face. His wary eyes show his sensitivity to wanting to hide and block himself from the outside world.

Attention is focused on what kind of story Kim Do-ha, who went from being an ordinary boy with a lot of dreams to a faceless composer; and what kind of change Mok Sol-hee, the strange girl next door, will bring to his life.
Accordingly, Hwang Min Hyun expresses eagerness to work in modern-day set drama, Director Nam and Kim So Hyun.
“I wanted to try a modern drama in the romance genre, and My Lovely Liar is such a good opportunity. I had a memory of enjoying director Nam Seong-woo’s work, so I really wanted to be with him. It was interesting to see our characters solve and heal the conflicts and worries together.”
Regarding his character, he sheds more light on what to expect about him.
“Do-ha hides himself for a long time and lives a life disconnected from outside world. He is a secretive character who unintentionally leads a double life. He is sometimes mysterious and there is a hidden secret that he does not want to bother to explain. Although he is a little sloppy, he sometimes comes out with a wacky appearance that feels awkward in relationships between people, and he will be able to make the viewers laugh because of it.”
My Lovely Liar premieres on July 31 on tvN!
