K-PLUS is excited to announce that we are simulcasting a new drama Oh! Youngsim this May, within 24 hours of Korea!
Inspired by the iconic 1990 Korean animation “Youngsim”, this “new retro” romance comedy tells the story of two childhood friends who reunite after 20 years.
Oh! Youngsim is a 10-episode romance comedy starring Lee Dong-hae (Super Junior, Panda and Hedgehog, Quiz from God 4, Glamorous Challenge), Song Ha Yoon (Devilish Charm, Fight for My Way, My Daughter Geum Sa-Wol, Please Don’t Date Him), Lee Min Jae (Crash Course in Romance, Cheer Up, The Golden Spoon, While You Were Sleeping) and Jung Woo Yeon (Meant to Be, A Good Supper, Love to Hate You, School 2013).
Oh Young-sim (Song Ha Yoon) is a variety program producer in her 30s. Young-sim dreamt of bringing laughter to people but ends up being named the “Icon of Early Endings” in her department as her programs always get cut early.
In the midst of a crisis, she lands an opportunity to produce a pilot romance variety show. Her mundane life begins to change when she reunites with her childhood friend Wang Kyung-tae (Lee Donghae), who is now the CEO of a famous startup.
Kyung-tae, who has grown up to be a cold-looking perfectionist, unintentionally reunites with his first love Young-sim and recalls painful memories of his childhood.
Will they be able to go back to their relationship when they were 15? Can they be friends again?

This will be Super Junior’s Lee Donghae’s long-awaited acting comeback drama since 2014 and his first acting project with Song Ha Yoon.
Oh! Youngsim is helmed by directors Oh Hwan-min and Kim Kyung-eun who directed Misty, Moments of 18, My Country, Navillera and The Road: The Tragedy of One and scriptwriter Jeon Seon-young of the film Golden Slumber, A Deadbeat’s Meal.
Retro vibes will be added to replicate the pleasant and warm atmosphere of the original animation, generating a unique atmosphere that contains both modern and retro vibes.
It will be a drama that provides comfort and give viewers time to reminisce on their past and present days through watching the grown-up main characters who now live passionately as adults.
Oh! Youngsim will premiere on K-PLUS starting 16 May 2023, Tuesday at 9.30pm (GMT+8). New episodes will air weekly every Tuesday & Wednesday at 9.30pm (GMT+8).
