“Our Blues” Headlined By Top Stars Lee Byung Hun, Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, Cha Seung Won & More Notches Premiere Date

Star-studded tvN series, Our Blues, clinches its launch date on April 9!

To be penned by acclaimed writer Noh Hee Kyung, the new tvN’s Saturday drama will be directed by Kim Gyu Tae.

Our Blues is a work that chronicles the sweet and bitter lives of all who stand at the end, climax, or beginning of life. It tells the life stories of various characters in an omnibus format against the backdrop of warm and lively Jeju and the cold and rough sea.

Previously, the teaser unveiled drew attention to the lineup of actors appearing in the series. Within 23 seconds of the teaser, the representative actors of South Korea were introduced.

Boasting a roster of 14 lauded actors, the special omnibus series heralds a unique taste from existing works. Actors from all generations gather to portray the lives of ordinary people set in Jeju island.

Celebrated actors Lee Byung Hun, Cha Seung Won, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Jung Eun and Han Ji Min lead the series along with Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin. Seasoned actors Kim Hye Ja and Go Doo Shim also join the cast. Rounding up the lineup are actors Bae Hyun Sung, Roh Yun Seo, Park Ji Hwan, Choi Young Jun and Ki So Yu.


Rough Story and Character Sketches of Our Blues

Portraying characters that are entangled in relationships as family, neighbors and friends; Our Blues aim to present each character’s own story.

Lee Byung Hun transforms into Jeju-born truck dealer while Lee Jung Eun plays the boss of a busy fish store. Drawing the romance in the story are Kim Woo Bin and Han Ji Min. Then, Kim Hye Ja suits up as an old woman selling seafood as Go Doo Shim assumes the role of a merchant woman.

Meanwhile, Park Ji Hwan sells sundae soup. He is married to the character of Choi Young Jung, the owner of an ice shop. Their children are Bae Hyun Sung and Roh Yun Seo.

Apart from that, there are also engrossing stories about people returning to their hometown Jeju island. Shin Min Ah will meet her former neighborhood brother Lee Byung Hun in the story. Cha Seung-won, a branch manager of a bank who transferred to Jeju, is Lee Jung Eun’s first love 30 years ago.

Uhm Jung Hwa comes to Jeju from Seoul to see her best friend Lee Jung Eun. Child actor Ki Soyou leaves her mother and her father and suddenly ends up living with her grandmother Go Doo Shim in an awkward relationship.

These characters further stimulate curiosity about what kind of story and relationship each character will intertwine.

Notably, the combination of writer Noh Hee-kyung, director Kim Gyu-tae, and the production team adds excitement for K-Drama fans.

Writer Noh is known for her works in That Winter The Wind Blows, It’s Okay, That’s Love, and Dear My Friends among others.

Omnibus drama Our Blues will premiere on April 9th on tvN! International fans can watch it on Netflix in selected regions.
