Prepping up for a perfect K-Dramaland wrap-up, Reborn Rich affirms its forthcoming launch and main cast before the year closes!
Raising the excitement meter for K-Drama fans, Viu secured JTBC series Reborn Rich top-billed by Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, and Shin Hyun Bin.
Reborn Rich chronicles the story of a devoted secretary of a chaebol family who was framed for fund embezzlement. He dies but he got a rebirth as the youngest son of the rich conglomerate company.
To be directed by Jeong Dae Yoon (W, I’m Not A Robot), the script will be penned by Kim Tae Hee (Designated Survivor 60 Days, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) with JTBC Studio backing up the project. It is based on a web novel of the same name.
Challenging another imaginatively conceived role, Song Joong Ki suits up as the main character, Yoon Hyun-woo. He is falsely accused of being disloyal to the Sunyang family and is thrown away.
But he gets a chance to be reborn as the youngest son of the very same evil family, Jin Do-joon. With his knowledge of future events, he goes to exact revenge by taking over the Sunyang group.
Meanwhile, Lee Sung Min takes the role of Jin Yang-cheol, the head of Sunyang Group. He is also the head of the Sunyang family and came from a poor background. Known for his relentless cruelty, he has a quenchless craving for money after rising to the top of the business world.
Lastly, Shin Hyun Bin takes on the role of Seo Min-young, a prosecutor in the anti-corruption investigation department from a prestigious family of lawyers. For the realization of justice, she is a tenacious warrior who crosses the border between escapism and illegality and is nicknamed the grim reaper of the Sunyang family.
Meet The Supporting Cast of Reborn Rich
Notably, Reborn Rich will be powered by reliable character actors.
Yoon Je Moon transforms into Jin Young-gi, the eldest son of Jin Yang-cheol. He is married to Son Jeong-rae, the prototype of chaebol with a mindless attitude, played by Kim Jung Nan.
Jo Han Chul portrays the second son of Sunyang family, Jon Dong Ki, who is innately shrewd and good with it. His wife Seo Jae-hee came from a prestigious family and will be played by Yoo Ji Na.
Next, Kim Young Jae suits up as the charismatic Jin Yoon-gi, Do-joon’s father and Yang-cheol’s third son. Jung Hye-young portrays Yoon-gi’s wife Lee Hae-in, a former top star.
In addition, Kim Hyun takes the role of Lee Pil-ok, the wife of Yang-cheol who is considered to be one of the founding members of Sunyang Group.
Kim Shin Rok and Kim Do Hyeon are going to be an onscreen couple as Jin Hwa-young, Yang-cheol’s daughter and male Cinderella Choi Chang-je.
Park Hyuk Kwon plays the role of Oh Se-hyeon, Do-joon’s partner, and will show special chemistry with Song Joong-ki. Tiffany Young portrays Rachel, Se-hyeon’s right hand.
Rounding up the main cast is Kim Nam Hee as Jin Seong-jun, the heir of Sunyang empire who is engaged to be married to Park Ji Hyun’s character, Mo Hyun-min.
Promising an imaginative narrative, the production team promises the series will provide a different level of engrossment.
“Reborn Rich is a life reset story of a man who returned from the threshold of death to become the youngest son of a conglomerate in 1987. It is a work with a special worldview that is retro tinged with fantasy element. In a time of upheaval, the relationship between these people is meticulously intertwined and will provide a different level of fun.”
Reborn Rich is slated to premiere before 2022 ends on JTBC. It will be streaming on the international streaming platform Viu.
