Venturing to a new career milestone, Kang Daniel takes his first project as an actor in Rookie Cops.
Slated to premiere on January 26 on Disney +, teaser photos were revealed showing Kang’s character Wi Seung-hyun.
Rookie Cops features an energetic police college campus life starring Kang Daniel and Chae Soo Bin. Featuring youth in their 20’s who are clumsy and easily succumbs to mistake, these police dreamers turn the police academy upside down giving pleasant laughter and excitement.
The original series is written by Lee Ha Na, and directed by Kim Byung-soo who is known for his other works: He is Psychometric, The Bride of Habaek, and Nine.
Rounding up the gregarious cast are Lee Shin Young, Park Yoo Na, Park Sung Joon, Min Do Hee, Kim Woo Seok, Chun Young Min would also be joining the set cast. Kim Sang Ho, Son Chang Min, Lee Moon Sik, Seo Yi Sook, Jeong Young Joo, and Ji Su Won complete the powerful lineup of the series.

In the published photos, Kang Daniel captures the relentless character of Wi Seung-hyun. He is equipped with an extraordinary sense of justice, smart and a motivated youth whose dream is to become a great police officer like his father.
Sharing his thoughts about his character, Kang Daniel picks “passion” as the apt keyword for Rookie Cops.
“It felt like entering someone else’s life, not mine. It seems there is a magic that is unique to acting that is different from the stage. It was my first time acting, and I was very nervous because it was an unfamiliar scene, but with the help of the production staff and actors, I had fun filming.”
When asked about Wi Seung-hyun’s charm, Kang describes him as a passionate person who can’t stand injustice.
“He seems to be indifferent, but he has an unexpected warmth.”
Praising the diligence of the idol-actor, the production team invites viewers to the acting transformation of Kang Daniel.
