Along with photos from the first table read of Showtime Begins, MBC also revealed details about the story and characters.
Looking forward to its delightful run, the series launches on April 23 at 9 PM, taking the weekend slot of MBC.
Showtime Begins takes a ghost comedy investigation route about Cha Cha-woong (Park Hae Jin), a charismatic but cold-hearted magician, and Go Seul-hae (Jin Ki Joo), a passionate and model police officer with supernatural powers.
At the held script-reading session, the cast enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere. Jung Jun Ho who plays General Choi Geum intrigues with his cryptic presence.
Meanwhile, Jung Seok Yong, Ko Kyu Pil and Park Seo Yeon attended the event with vigor as Magic Factory staff.
In addition, Kim Hee Jae plays the role of Lee Yong-ryeol, a young and diligent police officer who is Seul-hae’s patrol partner.
Helming the project is Lee Hyung-min who directed several hit Korean dramas including I’m Sorry I Love You, The Miracle We Met, and Strong Woman: Do Bong Soon
Moreover, screenwriter Ha Yoon-ah identifies with her recent work in JTBC drama, Mystic Pop-Up Bar.
Previously, Showtime Begins was exceptionally pre-sold to overseas OTTs in over 190 countries around the world before filming. It is considered as one of the most anticipated works of the year.
Showtime Begins, starring Park Hae Jin and Jin Ki Joo, will air for the first time on April 23 via MBC.
