The premiere and decorated actor affirms his first small screen project in Uncle Samsik.

Marking his Korean drama debut, Song Kang Ho is set to appear in 삼식이 삼촌 Uncle Samsik (LT). Attention is expected to the first Korean series that the esteemed actor will star in.
Uncle Samsik threads on the passionate desire and bromance between two men. They survive the turbulent period in the early 1960s. Song Kang Ho takes the role of Uncle Samsik who eats three meals in a day albeit the country was at war.
His life intertwines with the character named Kim San, an elite who will draw a story of love, faith and doubt with Song’s character.
Uncle Samsik is the first drama to be listed in the actor’s decorated filmography. Actively dominating the big screen in the past 32 years, Song Kang Ho is an award-winning actor famous for blockbuster movies and critically-acclaimed films.
His notable works include Joint Security Area, Memories of the Murder, The Host, Secret Sunshine, Snowpiercer, and The Face Reader. In addition, the recent works that earned him greater accolades are The Attorney, A Taxi Driver and Parasite. At the recent Cannes Film Festival, he won his first Best Actor award.

While K-content is receiving a lot of attention from domestic as well as global viewers through various platforms, Song Kang-ho’s first drama choice is expected to create a craze.

Accordingly, the 16-episode drama will be helmed by Director Shin Yeon-sik who worked with Song Kang Ho in upcoming films One Win and Cobweb.
Backing up Uncle Samsik is Slingshot Studio which details that the series with Uncle Samsik in the spotlight will gift a character with a colorful narrative. A performance that Song Kang Ho can live up to.
