Nam Joo Hyuk, Bae Suzy, Kim Seon Ho & Kang Han Na To Shoot For The Stars In Netflix New Series “Start-Up”

Aside from widely-praised actors, the formidable creative team backing up Start-Up make this K-Drama worthy to be yearned for.

Netflix confirmed the addition of the series to its well-loved Korean drama catalog in October.

Tackling the story of young people passionately chasing their dreams, Start-Up aims to present their dreams in the world of startup companies. The series stars Nam Joo Hyuk, Bae Suzy, Kim Seon Ho and Kang Han Na as main leads.

Reuniting the writer-PD tandem of Park Hye Run and Oh Choong Hwan, expectations are high on this project. Their combined portfolio boasts impressive dramas in the recent years including Hotel Del Luna, Doctors, I Can Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio.

Interestingly, this will be Suzy’s third collaboration with the two as she worked with them in Dream High and While You Were Sleeping.

Meet Start-Up’s Revolutionary Creators

Bae Suzy draws color to Seo Dal-mi, a woman who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs. She doesn’t have a fancy background but she’s passionate about her work. Gregarious and brimming with bright energy, she has a long list of part-time job experience.

Playing the role of Nam Do San, founder of Samsan Tech, Nam Joo Hyuk brings life to the character of a business owner in trouble. As a young boy, he was dubbed as “math genius” with his family backing him up. However, with his business going down, his family certainly is not happy about it. Taking advantage of Dal-mi’s mistaken thought of him being her first love, he decides to make that misunderstanding a reality.

Suiting up as Han Ji-pyeong, senior investment manager at a venture capital company is Kim Seon Ho. With astonishing investment skills and sharp tongue earn him the nickname, “the Gordon Ramsay of investments.”

Won In-jae, portrayed by Kang Han-na, is a second-generation chaebol CEO who has everything people desire – good education, beauty and money. But her background seems to be working against her in the startup world, as she struggles to create success on her own and be acknowledged for her skills.

The visionary world of Start-Up

In the first teaser released by Netflix, the start-up company concept is introduced. It explains start-ups as companies created upon innovative techniques and ideas.

Dal-mi is nervous but she moves forward with confidence giving a presentation in front of many spectators. Then, it shifts to cute nerd Do-san getting absorbed into coding and working on something that could be cutting edge.

Next, Ji-Pyeong, a senior executive from SH Venture Capital oozes luxury. Meanwhile, In-jae appears to be the perfect CEO and also stands on the same stage as Seo Dal-mi.

Beginning different journeys of the main character together at Sand Box, the series displays how they aspire to fulfill their goals and dreams.

Start-Up, produced by Studio Dragon, will premiere in October, available only on Netflix.
