Hyping fans’ interest, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun paraded teasers presenting expected scenarios and character missions.
In Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun, the fateful story of Tagon, Eunseom, Tanya, and Taealha continues in the ancient land of Arth.
The Sword of Aramun picks up from the events of the first season. Lee Joon Gi transforms into the characters of Eunsom and Saya who both have become a force to reckon with in the eastern part of the kingdom of Arth. Shin Se Kyung plays the role of Tanya who rose from a powerless slave of the Wahan tribe to the position of a high priestess. She obtains the unimaginable power of Arthdal.
Correspondingly, Jang Dong Gun as Tagon has taken the throne with Taealha (Kim Ok Bin) as the queen, and the narrative continues on the premise that eight years already passed.

Tagon vs Eunseom
Arthdal’s first king Tagon and Ago tribe leader Eun-seom stare at each other While the soldiers of Asdal and the warriors of the Ago tribe are tangled together in a bloody battle at the risk of their lives, a quiet silence flows between them as if time has stopped.

Tanya vs Taealha
An exciting relationship between Tanya and Taealha, who sometimes form an alliance even if they sometimes doubt and interfere with each other, is expected to unfold.
Tanya, the high priestess of Arthdal and Taealha, the Queen of Arthdal are seen in a poster in subdued intensity.
Around Taealha, enlisted soldiers are lined up in a single column, while Tanya’s side is guarded by priests and people of all ranks. Tanya and Taealha, the two powers that moved the era, will show a breathtaking tug-of-war between confrontation and cooperation to achieve their desired world.

In the teaser video of Tanya’s character, her lonely fight, which uses divine power to fulfill her mission by predicting the tragedies and horrors that will be brought about by the great war, was unfolded.

Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 follows Tagon’s Arthdal Kingdom and Eunseom’s Ago Alliance facing an unavoidable great war in the Arthdal Continent.
Tagon, the First King of Arthdal
Tagon in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun is the king of Arthdal that everyone fears. He is benevolent to his people, but terrifying and cruel to his enemies. He is expected to show a more mature Tagon than the unstoppable and reckless Tagon of the past.
Jang Dong Gun, who returned to the role of Tagon after a long time shares thoughts about reprising his role.
“I was very curious about the story behind Arthdal Chronicles, and I am happy to be able to meet viewers again with The Sword of Aramun. Tagon in the first season showed a strong and unstoppable attitude in order to get what he wanted with ambition. This time, I tried to express the anxiety and sensitivity of a person in power who has everything. It was my goal to express more complex emotions in various situations.”
The Goals of Eun-seom and Saya
Uniting the 30 Ago clans, Eun-seom heads the Ago alliance. On the other hand, Saya became a military commander. The fateful meeting of two friends who look the same, but have lived very different lives, takes place in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.
The first stills of Lee Joon Gi’s dual characters with a completely different texture are also released reflecting distinct characterizations.

“As an actor, I was very curious to draw the ambivalent feelings and appearances of Eun-seom and Saya, who were brothers but had to live completely different lives. I also had a strong desire to take on the challenge. Eight years have passed, so I tried not to miss the process of inferring and imagining the lives of the two people. It was important to bridge the gap and continue. It was a really difficult work.”
Tanya, the Grand Priestess of Arthdal
Shin Se Kyung is expected to take on a different challenge as Arthdal’s spiritual supporter, Grand Priestess Tanya.
Relaying the reason why she took on the challenge, the actress remarked how the story was attractive and how the characters have different motivations.
In the character photos released, you can see a different side of Shin Se Kyung, who is fully immersed in the character of Tanya. She looks quiet but silent and strong, showing the dignity of a person who is benevolent to the people and at the same time an object of fear.
As Tanya, all her people look up to her and worship her, and she will also become a being who equally embraces and cares for her people.
“Tanya perfectly realizes what she has to do in the era of slaughter and reveals her maturity. Through the painful times she overcame, her position of high priestess made her fully realized what the source of her strength is and how to cultivate that power. In an age of blood and trickery, in which only the strong survive, it may seem relatively straightforward as it emphasizes helping, giving, and loving each other, and insisting that stimulating desires such as slaughter and war be abandoned. The idea that it is a story that can serve as a role model not only for people in the world of Arthdal, but also for myself living in the modern world, the more I filmed, the more I got stronger.“
Kim Ok Bin, the Queen of Arthdal
Returning to her character, Kim Ok Bin resumes the role of Taealha opens the second act of the life character as Taealha, the queen of Arthdal who is at the peak of power.
Eight years later, with her position and skill, she enjoys immense power, but she can’t be complacent. Like the incarnation of her desire and her self-esteem, her lust for power is heating up even more.
In particular, it is interesting to see her standing with the son she gave birth to from Tagon. The attitude of Taealha, who is not confined to motherhood is seen gazing down at her young child.
Kim Ok Bin comments on Taealha’s motivations and aspirations.
“In Season 1, we could see her as a child who believed in love and leaned on people, but now we can see her as a mother with children and a politician who is more mature and burning with a lust for power. The love Taealha received from her father had to be utilized when it was worth using. She is different from a normal mother with a warm motherhood, but because the love she received is like that, I think the love she shows for her children will be the same as the one she received from her father. My son Arok is the most useful being to maintain Taealha’s power. The Sword of Aramun will be broadcast for the first time on September 9th at 9:20 pm. International fans can watch it on Disney+ beginning September 16.

I’m just waiting for the release day. I can’t wait to see how he performs the role of these two twins. Up to now he has made all of his characters individuals that have come alive. We can believe they are actual people and not just fiction. All of them have all been so different. How is he going to mold these two. Their personalities are so unique. He has the potential to make the both memorable in the eyes of his fans. It is gonna be magnificent. Bring it on.
