“Summer Strike” Invites Viewers To An Interesting Story About Taking A Break From Life

Summer Strike

Genie TV’s original drama, Summer Strike, which will be released in November previews a story of healing.

Adapted from Joo Young-Hyun’s romance webtoon series, “I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything”, Summer Strike sees Seolhyun take on the role of protagonist Yeoreum, while Im Si Wan plays her love interest, Daebum. The series will be helmed by the Coffee Prince and Golden Time director.

Billed as a healing drama, it is based on a webtoon depicting a village that goes through life without doing anything. A perfect space for people who wants to leave a complicated city life.

Additionally, Summer Strike plans to present beautiful sceneries captured through filming in Gurye, Gokseong, and Namhae.

A Peek At Summer Strike’s Plot

Summer Strike depicts the story of Yeo-reum, who suffers from burnout from her work and a series of unfortunate circumstances in her relationships. Desiring to do nothing, she takes a strike against life and moves from the cityscapes of Seoul to a small beach village known as Angok.

In Angok, she meets librarian Dae-bum, who suffered a similar life as Yeo-reum, and they grow close through numerous incidents that bond them together. This pulls them closer, with Yeo-reum finding her inner self through Dae-bum and healing her wounds of the past.

However, not all is bright and well in Angok. Just when one thought it was going to be a happy ending, the show’s climax hits with unexpected scenarios that will tear the couple apart.
Yeo-reum finds herself tangled in an unexpected murder case, and the pair must work together to chase down the killer.

Each action-filled episode is bound to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as it follows the pair through the challenges, they face in Angok.

Previously, a video on the script reading session was also unveiled by Studio Genie.

Meet The Characters

Subsequently, teaser posters and a trailer are rolled out ahead of the premiere of Summer Strike.

Scenes of leisure life basking in doing nothing convey the premise of the series. All of the characters enjoy their lone time and declare they don’t want to do anything.

Yeo-reum who declared a life strike and Dae-beom whose life is a question mark both evoke a feeling of contentment.

Next, Shin Eun Soo portrays Kim Bom, a high school student who skips school but goes to the library regularly. Meanwhile, Bang Jae Min takes the role of Heo Jae-hoon, a kind high schooler who has a crush on Bom.

Lastly, a puppy also echoes the same sentiment further raising anticipation for the series.
