Swerving from the usual story about gumiho, this time around, a story of male gumiho, Lee Yeon, to be portrayed by Lee Dong Wook will be highlighted. He ensures a harmonious coexistence between the mystical and mortal worlds.

His rough character sketch describes him to have superior intellect and athleticism. However, he tends to be self-righteous and hot-tempered.

Taking the female lead of the series is Jo Bo Ah. She takes the role of production director Nam Ji Ah of a television show that features frightening content such as ghost stories.

Rounding up the lead cast is Kim Bum who suits up as Lee Rang, half-brother to Lee Yeon. He is billed to be a half-human-half-gumiho who despises mortals. He sometimes obliges to the wishes of humans, but at a terrible price. Additionally, he is the most dangerous and sensitive male gumiho in existence.

The series reunites director Kang Shin Hyo and writer Han Woo Ri. They worked together in OCN’s Children of a Lesser God.

PD Kang has also worked on popular dramas, The Heirs, A Gentleman’s Dignity, Tazza and I Remember You.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed is set to broadcast beginning October 7 via tvN.
