Witness Lawrence and Ping Hui in their roles as Xia Dong Qing and Fifth Master, and learn what happens when the two encounter.
Viewers can now watch all 22 episodes of The Ferryman: Legends of Nanyang on iQiyi.
Tay Ping Hui makes his long-awaited cameo in Episode 15 as Taotie. He is referred to as the Fifth Master, a mythical creature who delights in devouring humans.
The human he coincidentally intends to devour is Xia Dong Qing (Lawrence Wong). Afterwards, sparks fly when he and Dong Qing meet and the same can be said for their on-screen chemistry.
During the interview, iQiyi spoke with both stars about their experiences filming the episode. Lawrence and Ping Hui then shared their similarities between their roles and their real-life selves.
“For sure I can’t see ghosts! But I’m naive to a certain extent, like Dong Qing is.”
Meanwhile, Ping Hui claims that his passion for food is comparable to that of the Fifth Master. His Instagram page speaks for itself, with its abundance of goodies.
“I love to eat. Some people eat to live, but I live to eat.”
The duo subsequently shared numerous scenes, laughing in unison as they discussed their most memorable moment.
Ping Hui explains that they were both envisioning the same scene.
“This is the first time I had a guy splatter all over my face, but you’re going to have to watch the show to find out why.”
Because of this, the two actors have forged a strong friendship between them.
To learn more about their relationship and why Lawrence spit water at Ping Hui, watch The Ferryman: Legends of Nanyang on the iQiyi International app or on iQ.com.
