In the recently-released stills of the melodrama The Interest of Love, Geum Sae Rok and Jung Ga Ram show opposing views on love.
The Interest of Love chronicles the stories of people who meet and discover the true meaning of love.
Billed as a melodrama, it follows realistic romantic narratives among men and women with varying beliefs on how love is felt and nurtured. The story features four different bank employees working at the Yeongpo branch of KCU Bank.
In the drama, Geum Sae Rok plays Park Mi Kyung, an assistant manager at the KCU Bank. Sincere about her feelings more than anyone else, she has a straightforward approach when it comes to expressing her love.
As someone confident and honest in both work and love, she is a person who highly values her relationships with people she considers her ‘person.’
Giving a glimpse of her character and how she portrayed the role, Geum Sae Rok discusses,
“Park Mi Kyung always values her relationships. With an unwavering heart, she goes straight to the person she likes and expresses it. However, she also feels confused about her love because of her relationship with someone that does not go according to her will for the first time. As I play the character of Park Mi Kyung, I focused on showing all of her sides, hoping that her sincerity would be fully conveyed.”
Starring opposite the actress is Jung Ga Ram who plays the role of Jung Jong Hyun. Working as a security guard at the KCU Bank, he dreams of becoming a police officer. He tries hard to become a person who suits the person he likes, but given his current environment, he regards love as a debt that he has to pay off someday.
Sharing details about his role, Jung Ga Ram expounds,
“Jung Jong Hyun, who is passionate but frustrated by the walls of reality, is a young man who does his best despite going through difficult circumstances. The things that Jung Jong Hyun experiences can happen to anyone that’s why I tried to express the way he felt.”
In the drama, Park Mi Kyung and Jung Jong Hyun will be entangled with Ha Sang Soo (Yoo Yeon Seok) and Ahn Soo Young (Moon Ga Young) in various incidents.
Teasing on her connection with her co-actors, Geum Sae Rok continued,
“My relationship with Yoo Yeon Seok was vital in portraying Park Mi Kyung. Thanks to his kind and easy-going guidance, she was able to focus on her liking for Ha Sang Soo.
I met Moon Ga Young for the first time through this work, and she is a wonderful actress who is focused and professional despite her busy schedule. It was nice to finally see her in person. Although we didn’t have many scenes together, I can see that she is determined.”
Jung Ga Ram also shared his experiences in filming and working with his co-actors and the staff.
“The atmosphere is friendly, and the actors, director, and staff are all good people, so it’s comfortable shooting the scenes. Watching each of them do their best in their respective positions, I also worked hard on the filming.”
JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama The Interest of Love will be broadcast for the first time at 10:30 pm on December 21. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
