A quirky Joseon-set series arrives on MBC in the second half of the year starring Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk.
열녀박씨 계약결혼뎐 The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract (LT) chronicles how 19th-century Confucian girl Park Yeon-woo who overcomes death and arrives in Korea in 2023. She meets an apathetic man whose face is exactly her husband’s who died on their wedding’s first night.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, the series will be directed by Park Sang Hoon (My Secret Terrius). Penning the script is Wife Scandal writer, Go Nam-jung.
In the drama, Lee Se Young takes on the role of Park Yeon-woo, a Joseon Confucian girl who crosses 200 years of time and ends up in South Korea in 2023 after being thrown into a well.
Ending up in modern-day Korea on the first night of her honeymoon, she meets Kang Tae-ha, played by Bae In Hyuk. Interestingly, he looks exactly like her husband in Joseon who died in front of her.
While she finds a way to return to Joseon, everything begins to change little by little as she feels subtle feelings for Kang Tae-ha.
Accordingly, Kang Tae-ha is caught in a dilemma. He is confused between the ‘logic’ that wants to push Park Yeon-woo away and the ‘mind’ that wants to attract her.
The production team invites viewers to look forward to Lee Se Young and her latest character in The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.
“Lee Se-young, who has excellent acting skills, is an actor who fits more perfectly than anyone else with Park Yeon-woo’s character. Please look forward to his acting transformation.”
Likewise, they also assure an excellent transformation by Bae In Hyuk who already showed chemistry with Lee Se Young.
MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract is scheduled to air in the second half of 2023.
