“Through The Darkness” Introduces A Grim Realistic World Of Criminal Minds

SBS will soon release its new Friday – Saturday drama. However, expect that among the upcoming January 2022 Korean dramas, this series is not for the faint-hearted.

Korean dramas have proven their competence and resourcefulness in producing psychological thrillers. For that reason, even international viewers applaud and anticipate the new Korean series of this genre. Moreover, Through The Darkness is inspired by a true story.

It is based on the 2018 non-fiction novel written by Kwon Il Young, Korea’s first criminal profiler. With that said, an authentic and tension-filled psychological thriller is promised to be showcased.

Through the Darkness tells the immersive storyline of South Korea’s first criminal profiler, who delves into the minds of serial murderers at a period when the number of unsolved killings was at an all-time high.

Song Ha Young (Kim Nam Gil) is a criminal profiler for the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Scientific Investigation of Criminal Behavior Analysis team.

Despite his unassuming demeanor, he can read people more profoundly than anyone else.

Meanwhile, viewers will also be introduced to Kook Young-soo (Jin Sun Kyung). He is the team leader of the Criminal Behavior Analysis team.

Additionally, he is also the first to see the necessity to examine criminal behavior, and as a result, he formed his own team to help them.

Not only that but, we will also get to know Yoon Tae Goo (Kim Ji So), squad head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Mobile Investigation Unit.

She perceives cases with an animal-like sense, garnering her colleagues’ acknowledgment for her adept handling of serious crimes.

Helmed By A Competent Production Team

In addition to the three lauded lead cast, Lee Dae Yeon, Kim Won Hae, and Jung Man Sik will also portray important characters that will enrich the series’ plot.

More importantly, Director Park Bo Ram and writers Seol Yi Na have dedicated their skills and passion to bring a very convincing and remarkable narrative about criminal behaviors.
