“To My Haeri” Captures Intriguing Transformation of Shin Hye Sun In Latest Teasers

Genie TV’s upcoming original series, To My Haeri, has unveiled its first teaser poster, promising a heartwarming romantic comedy.

Directed by Jung Ji-hyun, known for hits like Twenty Five, Twenty One, and written by Han Ga-ram of When the Weather Is Fine, the drama features a star-studded cast including Shin Hye Sun, Lee Jin Wook, Kang Hoon, and Jo Hye Joo.

To My Haeri is described as a “happy rebirth romance” that delves into the emotional healing of its main characters. The story centers on Joo Eun-ho, an announcer who, burdened by life’s pressures, develops a new personality to cope with her hidden wounds. Her ex-boyfriend becomes a key figure in her journey of self-discovery and healing. As they navigate the challenges of their past and present, the series explores themes of love, loss, and the quest for happiness.

Shin Hye Sun takes on a dual role, portraying both the world-weary news anchor Joo Eun-ho and her free-spirited counterpart, Joo Hye-ri. The teaser poster beautifully captures the contrast between these two characters, highlighting their different personalities and emotional states.

Joo Eun-ho is portrayed as a breadwinner announcer who, despite her outward success, struggles to conceal her pain and emotions. The black-and-white frame surrounding her in the poster suggests a life filled with hardships and the burden of responsibility. Her expression is cold and distant, hinting at the tough exterior she has developed to protect herself from further hurt.

On the other hand, Joo Hae-ri is depicted in a vibrant and colorful frame. This transformation from monochrome to color symbolizes a shift from sorrow to joy, reflecting Joo Hye-ri’s cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. Her bright smile contrasts sharply with Eun-ho’s guarded demeanor, making viewers curious about the connection between these two seemingly different women.

The poster hints at a deeper narrative that will unravel as the series progresses, exploring the relationship between Eun-ho and Hae-ri and the impact they have on each other’s lives.

Adding to the intrigue are the three mood films that were released alongside the teaser poster. These films feature poignant lines such as “A love story?”, “I didn’t come here to talk about that kind of love story”, “I’d rather be disgusted?”, and “I think I really like you because I hate you so much”, which offer glimpses into the complicated relationship between Joo Eun-ho and Jung Hyun-oh, played by Lee Jin Wook.

Despite the sharpness of the dialogue, the background music—a lyrical piano melody—evokes a sense of nostalgia and longing, suggesting that their relationship may have been happier in the past. This contrast between the biting words and the soothing melody heightens the anticipation for the emotional journey that awaits the characters and the viewers.

The chemistry between Shin Hye Sun and Lee Jin Wook is expected to be a highlight of the series, with their characters’ complex dynamic serving as the emotional core of the story. As Joo Eun-ho and Jung Hyun-oh confront their unresolved feelings and past misunderstandings, To My Harry will explore the possibility of second chances and the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.

To My Haeri is set to make its debut on Monday, September 23rd at 10 PM KST, airing on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, and ENA. The series is already generating buzz for its compelling storyline, talented cast, and the creative team’s proven track record. Fans of romantic dramas and emotionally charged narratives are eagerly awaiting its premiere, anticipating a series that will offer both heartache and hope in equal measure.
